Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Head Lacrosse Coach, the Assistant Coach should have a working knowledge of all conference and NCAA policies, rules, and regulations and adhere to these policies as they pertain to the job.
Job Description:
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Coaching
Assists the coaching staff with the ongoing teaching and instruction in the performance of their sport such as, but not limited to, games, practices, individual and team workouts, and conditioning sessions.
Recruiting
Work in conjunction with the coaching staff in the identification, recruitment, and selection of prospective student-athletes.
Organize on and off campus recruiting, evaluations and visits.
Academics
Provide an overall positive educational environment for student-athletes conducive to learning, athletic development, social growth, and preparing them for life beyond college.
Administrative
Work in conjunction with the coaching staff in the day-to-day administration of the entire lacrosse program, including, but not limited to daily practices, game planning and implementation, recruiting, equipment management, facilities scheduling, travel, fundraising, community service, alumni relations and budget management.
Engagement/Camps & Clinics
Perform both direct and indirect public relations functions including promotion, fundraising, alumni events, public speaking and community events.
Assist in the planning, organization, and promotion of alumni events and camps and/or clinics.
Other Duties as Assigned by the Head Coach
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree;
Collegiate athletic experience; specifically, with Women's Lacrosse Program
Knowledge of NCAA rules and compliance
Independent judgment is necessary to plan, prioritize and organize a diversified workload with attention to detail.
