The Department of OB/GYN, specializing in Reproductive, Endocrine & Infertility (REI) is looking for a Women's Health Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to work within their practice.

All WH nurse practitioners or Physician Assistants function under the guidelines as designed by the University of Pennsylvania Medical Center medical staff guidelines and are credentialed through that body. The WHNP / PA-C hired by the Clinical Practices of the University of Pennsylvania will be held accountable through a formal job description, through the delineation of privileges, and through their agreement with their collaborating physician who has initiated a Collaborative Practice Agreement. All clinical work hours and associated requirements will be defined and managed under the direction of the collaborating physician/division designee, and within the Human Resource guidelines.

The WHNP / PA-C in the specialty practice of Reproductive Endocrinology Infertility will work collaboratively with the physicians in a team approach to enhance patient care that enables the practice to streamline new patient visits, improve patient access and provide a high level of coordinated, efficient and quality care to our REI and surgical patients. This individual will work closely with the HUP RSF to enhance patient safety and satisfaction.

The practice specializes in female and male fertility care, fertility preservation, IVF, preimplantation testing, specialized care for women with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) and endocrine disorders. The Ambulatory Nurse II is an RN that practices as a full partner on the health care team and consistently demonstrates safe practice within the organizational professional practice model. The Ambulatory Nurse II possesses the knowledge, skills and the attitude to effectively meet standards for competent professional nursing practice as specified in the Ambulatory Nurse II position description addendum. The Ambulatory Nurse II exhibits UPHS organizational behavioral competencies which reflect its mission and are embedded in the professional practice competency domains. The Ambulatory Nurse II independently provides patient care through the application of the nursing process and accepts accountability for the nursing care of assigned patients. Assigned patients may range in age from infancy to the elderly. The Ambulatory Nurse II e demonstrates within the competency domains of Continuous Quality Improvement, Evidence Based Practice and Research, Leadership, Person and Family Centered Care, Professionalism, Safety, Technology/Informatics, and Teamwork. The Ambulatory Nurse II works closely with the inter-professional health care team to facilitate the coordination of care across the continuum. The nurse focuses on expanding the knowledge and skills necessary to provide individualized care based on physical,psycho-social, cultural, educational, safety, and age appropriate considerations of assigned patients.
