Job Summary: Provides, coordinates, and assures expert patient care utilizing the nursing process to patients across the lifespan with ostomies, fistulas, acute or chronic wounds and pressure ulcers, and continence disorders.
Provides direct care as necessary as well as education to patients #/or significant others, and peers. Acts as a resource to nurses, physicians, and other health care team members in the management of patients with but not limited to ostomies, wounds, incontinence as well as patients at risk for skin integrity impairment.
Baccalaureate Degree. Graduate of an accredited WOCN Program with in one year of employment. Minimum of 2 years acute care or requisite nursing experience.
Current specialty certification required in the areas of wound, ostomy and continence or candidate must be eligible for certification/recertification. Ostomy and continence certification required through WOCNCB. Wound certification may be obtained through the WOCNCB or through the American Academy of Wound Management.
Must successfully complete or obtain required certifications within 1 year of meeting eligibility requirements. Communicates effectively with peers. Works to facilitate care as a team
Licensure and Certifications: Current PA RN licensure RN;Basic Life Support;Bachelor#s degree Professional certification in nursing specialty preferred or actively pursuing the same HTFRN# #LI-MH1
