Job Description

Aspen Skiing Company LLC is seeking to employ 12 people in the position of Cook 2 from December 15, 2024 through April 15, 2025.

Involves being responsible for showing competency with a variety of cooking techniques to include baking, broiling, grilling, sauté, roasting, and blanching. Safely use a knife & be able to demonstrate consistency with knife cuts.

Prepare & serve food items according to chef specifications. Safely operate and be able to train others on the operation of various kitchen equipment to include oven, grill, flattop, soup kettles, slicers, robo-coupe, immersion blender. Responsible for the safe handling of food product according to applicable health codes and laws.

Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment, participate in pre and post shift cleaning and organization to include but not limited to: kitchen equipment, walk in fridge/freezer storage, dry storage, trash, recycle, mopping, sweeping. Follow daily preparation list to ensure items are ready for service. Assist with storage of food deliveries.

Report any problems with food product, kitchen equipment or work area to a Chef/Sous chef. Work a food station during service, including direct guest interaction if working in a full service restaurant. Assist with training new employees as requested. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

No prior experience or education is required.

Ability to reach, crouch, kneel, stand, walk or be on your feet for extended periods of time.

Regularly work in wet, hot and humid conditions for extended periods of time and may be required to walk on slippery and uneven surfaces. Must be able to continually lift, push or pull up to 50 lbs. individually or with assistance. Ability to communicate and follow oral or written directions in English is required.

Ability to ski or ride at an intermediate level is required for employees of ski in/ski out restaurants in winter. Employer will offer 40 hours per week. Full time.

Shifts are: 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Times and days of week will vary. Business is open 7 days a week.

Must be able to work weekends and holidays. Wages of at least $23.00 per hour with overtime available at time-and-a-half, $34.50, when applicable. Worksites are either in Aspen Colorado, with five locations, or in Snowmass Village, Colorado, with seven locations.

Raises available based on performance. Training will be provided. Equipment/tools/supplies will be provided at no cost.

Shift meals provided at no cost. Housing available on a first come, first served basis. Rent ranges from $325.00 to $985.00 per month depending on location, and payable by cash or check directly to landlord.

Both are optional and neither a condition of employment. Transportation to and from the work site: Free shuttle to/from work location is available within Snowmass and Aspen city limits.

For employees that choose to live outside these areas, a 40% discounted bus pass is available. Other fringe benefits are available. Employer will make no other deductions from the worker's paycheck except those required by law.

Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of $15.46 per day during travel to a maximum of $59.00 per day with receipts. Transportation (including meals, and to the extent necessary, lodging) to the place of employment will be provided, or its cost to workers reimbursed, if the worker completes half the employment period. Return transportation will be provided if the worker completes the employment period or is dismissed early by the employer.

The employer guarantees to offer work for hours equal to at least three-fourths of the workdays in each 6- or 12-week period of the total employment period. Fifteen (15) job openings. Supervision Received: Works under direct supervision of Sous Chef or Chef De Cuisine.

Tasks are assigned according to specific procedures, and work is checked frequently. Instruction, advice and assistance are readily available.
