Position Title: Windows System Administrator
Location: Mark Center, Alexandria, VA
Security Clearance Type: Top Secret
Work Status: U.S. Citizen
Position Status: 3 month Contract to Hire

Our client is looking for Windows System Administrator candidates for a position located in Alexandria, VA. The client is a professional services provider that largely supports government clientele.

Responsibilities:
Install and configure Windows server hardware and software, to include physical and virtual servers, Windows Server, Active Directory, IIS, Hyper-V, and supporting physical infrastructure.
Troubleshoot Windows OS issues. Independently utilizes all available resources (knowledge bases, online resources, etc.) to ensure timely resolution of server issues.
Develop operating procedures for system administration activities including system monitoring, performance tuning, backup/recovery, server architecture design and system maintenance.
Install, maintain and manage Windows SUS, SCCM, and other servers for automated updates.
Perform regular system maintenance, hardware and software upgrades, physical to virtual migrations and performance tuning.
Actively participates in project planning to ensure timely and successful completion of projects.
Provide on-call 24 x 7 support on a rotating basis.

Required Skills:
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline (may substitute with a minimum of 5 years relevant work experience).
10+ years of system administration experience with Windows Server 2008, 2012, and 2016 operating systems.
Experience administering Microsoft SharePoint and SQL Server.
Experience managing corporate email in a Microsoft Exchange environment.
Expert-level knowledge of Active Directory including Group Policy creation and management.
Experience configuring virtualized servers using platforms such as Hyper-V, Citrix XenApp Server, and/or VMWare vSphere.
Ability to program to solve problems and automate tasks in common scripting or programming languages such as Python, Ruby, Perl, PowerShell, and/or VBScript.
Knowledge and experience with Configuration Management Processes such as IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) in an enterprise environment.
Demonstrable knowledge designing and troubleshooting authentication solutions using PKI.

Desired Skills:
Experience with Microsoft SCCM or other RMM solutions.
Knowledge of DoD security requirements and NIST standards.
Experience administrating Linux-based systems.
Experience with Linux based LDAP solutions.
Relevant industry or DoD 8570 certification: Microsoft Windows Server 2012/2016, SQL Server, Security+ CE, CISSP, etc.

Knowledge/Skills/Responsibilities The Administrator will serve as a technical resource responsible for the following: * Utilizing the device management application platforms to provision, deploy, manage, and support devices. * Serve as a technical resource responsible for supporting all department devices to include deploying applications and applying configurations to align with all security standards and device configuration standards. * Provide ongoing maintenance, support, and enhancements to MS exchange servers * Provide ongoing maintenance, support, and enhancements to Microsoft Office Communicator 2007 and Lync and Skype for Business * Provide ongoing maintenance, support, and enhancements to Blackberry UEM. * Provide ongoing maintenance, support, and enhancements to AirWatch. * Respond to and resolve incident tickets for Exchange and Mobile device issues * Provide after-hour support and on-call support as required.
