Maintains smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network engineers. Sets up administrator and service accounts, maintains system documentation, tunes system performance, installs system-wide software, and allocates mass storage space.

Interacts with users and evaluates vendor products. Makes recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinates installation, and provides backup recovery. Develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: BS +4 yrs of related experience

Analyzes, logs, tracks and resolves software/hardware matters of significance pertaining to networking connectivity issues, printer, servers, and applications to meet business needs. Performs troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose common system problems; documents system events to ensure continuous functioning.

Recommends course of action and implements as system software and hardware components as required to meet business needs; coordinates backups. Ensures upgrades are occurring in accordance with established the installation of client department specific applications and systems.

Determines appropriate method for installing applications and systems; resolves matters of significance and implements corrective course of action as needed. Installs, tests, upgrades and configures system files and services to enhance performance. Utilizes standard corporate tools to record change and problem activities for tracking purposes.

Must Have Skills:

Desktop hardware troubleshooting experience

Windows 10 Desktop/Server 2008/2012 Support experience

Active Directory experience

Nice to Have Skills:

Fiber Optics

CAT V Wiring

Clearance Requirement: Must have Secret to Start Work

Required Baseline Certs: DOD 8570 IAT Level II (CCNA-Security or CSA+ or GICSP or GSEC or Security+ce or SSCP)

Candidate would be a key member of a local Information Technology group supporting an unclassified DMZ network as a site System Administrator. This position provides Linux Red Hat server system administration services, including server installation, system configuration, security patching, and network integration, as well as the development and maintenance of Standard Operating Instructions (SOI's) in support of network infrastructure and end user needs. Candidate may be required, on occasion, to support after-hours or weekend support in order to perform recovery and restoration of servers, perform system diagnostics, and troubleshoot problems. Candidate will provide day-to-day support of local IT environment to include: User account management; Server administration; Server and user desktop software application installation; Troubleshooting system issues, deskside user support. Applicant selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must have ability to obtain an interim and final DoD Secret clearances.
