Allegiant is looking for a self-motivated and talented Windows administrator to join our operations team. This person will primarily be focused on the applications and systems running in our Windows environment. The ideal candidate would be someone who understands client / server applications and the underlying technologies. The Allegiant Operations Team is responsible for supporting ALL of Allegiant Air's customer-facing IT systems and services. Those services include public facing websites, internal corporate systems, monitoring systems, backup and recovery systems, as well as auditing and reporting services. In addition to managing these IT systems and services, the Ops team also works closely with our development teams throughout our software development life cycle (SDLC). Minimum Requirements

Combination of Education and Experience will be considered. Must be authorized to work in the US as defined by the Immigration Act of 1986. Must pass a Criminal Background Check.

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field

Years of Experience: Minimum three (3) years Windows Server administration, as well as experience with Windows Server 2003, 2008, 2012

Preferred Requirements

  • Able to write scripts and / or programs using an administrative language (Batch, PowerShell, Visual Basic, etc.).

  • Familiar with fundamental computer science concepts.

  • Microsoft or VMWare Certifications.

  • Experience with Active Directory administration.

  • Experience with VMWare vSphere administration.

  • In-depth knowledge of network protocols, such as IP, ARP, TCP, UDP, DHCP, DNS, FTP, NTP, SNMP, etc.

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

  • Able to document team policies and procedures if they do not already exist.

  • Excellent technical problem-solving skills and customer support skills.

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.

  • Proven oral and written communications skills.

  • Ability to prioritize, address, and follow through on multiple tasks in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

  • Experience with IIS, NetBackup, and large-scale computing environments.

  • Knowledge of SOX, PCI, and ITIL practices and experience with their application in an IT department.

Job Duties

  • Support the core backend / internal facing IT infrastructure, which includes development teams.

  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve technical problems relating to systems and applications.

  • Perform maintenance / upgrades to applications and systems.

  • Deployment of new technology while adhering to best practice.

  • Perform tuning of servers and services.

  • Assist in automating internal processes and procedures.

  • Follow incident, problem, crisis and change management processes.

  • Work with IT teams to assist in support enterprise IT infrastructure.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Exposure to moderate noise (i.e. business office with computers, phones, printers, and foot traffic), temperature and light fluctuations. Ability to work in a confined area as well as the ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period of time. Some travel may be a requirement of the role.

We develop and maintain realistic integrated test and training environments, and prepare our nation's war-fighting aircraft, weapons systems, and aircrews for today's missions and tomorrow's global challenges. JOB SUMMARY -- ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES The System Administrator (SA) performs operational support and on-going maintenance of systems required to meet contract objectives, specializing in Linux platforms. The SA will coordinate with JT4 departments, the NTTR and external units to resolve computer and solution issues and works closely with Cyber Security to maintain a high level of systems integrity and security. * Installing and upgrading UNIX system software on company servers and computers. * Creating UNIX file systems * Detecting and troubleshooting software and hardware issues. * Responding to user requests and software errors. * Monitoring the performance of the systems and servers. * Applying patches and upgrades when necessary. * Partners with other IT team members with strong collaborative capabilities to build a robust, secure, and scalable infrastructure. * Ability to author and maintain IT procedural documentation. * Provides regular systems monitoring and standardized reporting to identify system hardware and/or software and operating system problems, this includes identifying problems and determining the most efficient way to resolve them. * Collaborates with other Systems Admins, Cyber Security and the business units. * Apply Cyber Security standards, directives, guidance and policies to an architectural framework as directed * Possesses excellent Customer Service skills * Must work efficiently both independently and within a team * Perform other duties as required.
