Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) is looking for you to join our team as a Windows Systems Administrator based out of Redondo Beach.

What You'll get to Do:

You will be responsible for maintaining smooth operation of classified multi-user computer systems.

Duties will include interaction with users to determine hardware/software requirements and installation and configuration of hardware, operating systems and COTS. Ancillary duties will include, but are not limited to, evaluation of vendor products, providing recommendations to purchase hardware and software, providing backup recovery, maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, and computing asset management. Applicant must be experienced in STIG configuration, classified processing, and security procedures.

Basic Qualifications for a Level 3:

  • Bachelor's degree with 6 years of relevant experience; Masters with 4 years of relevant experience; or 10 years of relevant experience in lieu of a completed degree

  • Systems Administration of Windows Operating Systems

  • Security certification

  • Current DoD Secret security clearance

Basic Qualifications for a Level 4:

  • Bachelor's degree with 10 years of relevant experience; Masters with 8 years of relevant experience; or 14 years of relevant experience in lieu of a completed degree

  • Systems Administration of Windows Operating Systems

  • Security certification

  • Current DoD Secret security clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with remote and local system deployments

  • Familiarity with Linux & Unix Operating Systems, VMware virtualization and management (V-Shpere 5.x or later),

  • Familiarity with NAS and SAN technologies (NetApp SAN, EMC SAN, HP NAS)

  • CISSP or Microsoft OS Certification

This position will be located in Redondo Beach, California. The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman's Information Technology support team. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: Manage systems, including Windows servers, desktops, and applications for several program or project areas. Support highly skilled engineers working with advanced engineering tools. System Administrators are responsible for installation, configuration and maintenance of multi-purposed servers, as well as service ticket and outage response within a secure environment with strict security policies and procedures. The administration of classified Windows systems within strict security policies and procedures includes the following tasks: OS installations and network configurations on servers and workstations; Implement recovery procedures to include the backup and potential restoration within agreed timeframes; Work closely with network, software, hardware and security engineers, whether remote or on site; Define, understand & implement computer lab requirements; Perform technical research to drive solutions for system or software limitations; COTS software installation, configuration and maintenance (to include first-level application support for users); Create accurate, detailed technical procedures & installation instructions; Use knowledge of NISPOM (Chapter 8) and/or DCID 6/3-ICD 503 information system requirements; Prepare security documentation for submission to regulatory agencies as required; Comply with security requirements, which may include weekly system checks for Antivirus, logging, and network system services; Ensure data integrity by evaluating, proposing, implementing and managing software and hardware solutions; Recommend and implement approved system enhancements that will improve the performance and reliability of the system including installing, upgrading/patching, monitoring, problem resolution, and configuration management; Develop and document technical processes and procedures as needed; Occasional travel may be required. This requisition may be filled at a higher grade based on qualifications listed below. ESCSO ITS3500 This requisition may be filled at either a level 3 or a level 4. Basic Qualifications for a level 3: Bachelor's degree and 5 years of related experience or 9 years of related experience in lieu of degree. Candidates must have a current DOD Top Secret with SCI eligibility level security clearance (or higher) with an original adjudication, or a periodic reinvestigation date, completed within the last 6 years to be considered. Must be able to obtain and maintain an IAM DoD level 1 Security certification (CAP, GSLC or Security CE) within 6 months of start date. Must have the ability to obtain, and maintain, access to Special Programs as a condition of continued employment. Ability to lift equipment weighing up to 40 pounds. Ability to work after hours and weekends as needed. Windows experience. Basic Qualifications for a level 4: Bachelor's degree and 9 years of related experience or 13 years of related experience in lieu of degree.
