What Your Job Will Be Like

Department 10777 has openings for experienced Windows Systems Administrators. The primary responsibility is to provide Windows Systems Administration support for the enterprise server systems. Duties will include hardware, software, operating system maintenance, performance tuning, capacity planning, and testing. In order to manage our mission essential computing environment, it will be critical for the successful candidate to develop close working relationships with team members, customer groups, and other teams in infrastructure computing and cyber security departments.

Qualifications We Require

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant discipline, or equivalent:

  • higher degree (MS, PhD) in relevant discipline; or

  • experience and/or achievements that demonstrate the knowledge, skills and ability to perform the duties of the job.

  • Experience in a large, distributed Windows server environment.

Qualifications We Desire

  • Knowledge and experience with administration and management of servers and storage systems that provide enterprise-wide services, preferably in Microsoft, VMware and Linux environments

  • Experience with virtualization technologies, both VMware and Hyper-V platforms

  • Familiarity with the application and management of Windows Server and SQL databases

  • Knowledge and application of SSL Certification principles

  • Knowledge and application of Disaster Recovery strategies including replication and backup software for the protection and recovery of systems and data

  • Strong analytical and organizational skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.

  • Demonstrated experience in effectively prioritizing and executing tasks in a constantly changing environment.

  • Ability to develop and nurture effective relationships internal and external to the organization.

  • Knowledge and experience with Domain administration.

  • Ability to obtain DOE Q security clearance.

Security Clearance

Position requires a Department of Energy (DOE) Q-level security clearance.

Sandia is required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, law enforcement records, and employment/education verifications. Applicants for employment must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE Q-level security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship. If you hold more than one citizenship (i.e., of the U.S. and another country), your ability to obtain a security clearance may be impacted.
