SAIC is seeking a highly motivated and self-driven individual with a background in Information technology. This hands-on position will be responsible for partnering with other service providers and team members to ensure that appropriate IT solutions are delivered to meet the business needs of the New Mexico Design Engineering community. We are searching for a results-driven, forward-thinking individual with an Information Technology Service Management (ITSM) background and collaboration skills, who is adept at understanding a customer's business goals and delivering IT solutions that enable them.
As part of the MCS-CAD Support Team, this individual, under general direction, will be responsible for managing, and troubleshooting centralized and distributed Windows systems. They will help establish, and carry out procedures to configure and maintain operating software, and engineering applications. They will perform system administration of diskless, disk full, and virtual computers on classified and unclassified networks. They will provide customer support for client installation and maintenance of mechanical and electrical CAD and engineering applications including PTC CREO, Mentor Graphics, PDMLink and AutoCAD. They will also manage server-based applications, license services, and data storage in support of this distributed infrastructure. Some of their work will require managing an individual queue of trouble tickets using BMC ticket management software.
Preparing, communicating, documenting, and delivering services that support the organization's business needs
Working with MCS-CAD staff, and other service providers, to ensure engineering application and technology needs and issues are identified and addressed
Diagnose and resolve problems for all areas, including systems administration and technical support, in both unclassified and classified IT environments.
Assist with planning and implementing changes to the customer's IT environment, ensuring changes do not impact critical business functions.
Support and participate in initiatives involving cross-functional teams and deliverables.
Installation of CREO on non DEG machines (both classified and unclassified)
Bachelor's degree in relevant discipline and 2 years of experience OR 6 years or more experience in lieu of degree; Or Masters degree and 0 years experience in lieu of degree.
Strong experience two or more years of experience in lieu of a degree of client Windows systems administration, including system setup; application installation; troubleshooting; account management; and general IT systems maintenance & operations
Strong customer service, verbal, written communication and documentation skills
Demonstrated experience applying technical acumen and domain knowledge to facilitate the resolution of business, operational, technical, and process challenges.
Ability to function successfully in a fast-paced, relatively unstructured environment, working on tight deadlines, highly motivated to drive activities to completion.
Candidate must currently posses DOE L clearance.
Ability to attain and maintain a Department of Energy (DOE) Q-level security clearance.
Bachelor's degree in relevant discipline or 3 or more years of experience in lieu of a degree
Demonstrated experience working in an IT environment (e.g. desktop, operating systems, cloud, infrastructure)
Deployment and troubleshooting VMware Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) with advanced graphics.
Experience with ITIL and IT Service Management
Experience implementing and administering the following software domains:
License server administration including FlexLM, Solidworks, and Bentley Licensing
o Windows Server (2012-R2 and newer)
o Windows folder security
o Windows batch and visual basic scripting
