Responsibilities:

  • Support Windows, Unix, and VMware information systems in a geographically distributed environment

  • Maintain Windows 2008 R2 - 2016 OS functionality and stability and build new systems

  • Maintain system security; diagnose and resolve issues related to OS, hardware, and applications

  • Perform routine maintenance and respond to break-fix tickets

  • Configure, maintain and administer Microsoft Windows Server environments

  • Install server-based applications for all application environments

  • Apply operating system and application updates, patches and configuration changes

  • Effectively gather systems requirements through communication with business users, other IS teams and vendors

  • Accept and accomplish tasks given by Team Lead

  • Strategically plan and implement complex projects and problem oriented tasks

  • Work with other groups to provide disaster recovery procedures for server-based applications

  • Conduct research and document findings and recommendations by using analytical problem solving

  • Provide after-hours production support as required

Required

  • At least 5 years of experience managing Windows Servers in an enterprise level environment

  • At least 3 years of experience in VMware

  • At least 1 year of experience managing Windows Servers in Azure

  • Expert knowledge of RDS (Remote Desktop Services)

  • Tier 2 knowledge of networking and storage concepts and technologies

  • Motivated self-starter, able to work well independently or in a team setting

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills

  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment

  • Good interpersonal skills, the ability to communicate effectively both written and verbal

  • Proven experience as a Windows System Administrator with in-depth knowledge of Server 2008 R2 and 2012 R2

  • Excellent initiative and attention to detail

  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem solving skills

  • Must work well in a team and individual setting

Preferred:

  • Proficiency with an Enterprise Monitoring System

  • Familiarity with Service Now / BMC Remedy
