Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is currently seeking a Wind Construction QA/QC Manager. The role is being physically present at the construction site to perform the three phases of control and prepare documentation for each definable feature of work in their area of responsibility. This position will initially be based in Tucker, GA for 2-3 weeks of orientation, then assigned to projects as needed.

Key Responsibilities

Ensure that the construction project plans are properly executed and evaluate the effectiveness of controls delineated in the PQP and implementing procedures

Perform or verify that all required construction QC sampling, testing and documentation are performed correctly

Perform acceptance and rejection of services or completed work

Perform surveillances of project operations

Provide reports of observation and test results

Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned

Skills / Qualifications

Qualifications

Must have a minimum journeymen's experience of one of the following construction disciplines and a high school diploma or equivalent: (Civil/Concrete/Structural/Piping/Welding/Mechanical/Electrical)

Must have the ability to perform basic math

Must be a self-starter, organized, detailed oriented

Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work well with a team

Must be experienced in Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Word, Excel)

Ability to coordinate multiple activities and provide QA oversight for multiple contractors and craft

Knowledgeable regarding measurement and test equipment (MT&E) is preferred

Experience with construction quality management tools and knowledge of quality guidelines (.i.e. ASME/AWS/ACI/API/ICC) preferred

Must pass drug test, physical and background check

Physical Demands

Ability to stoop, kneel and lift up to 50 pounds.

Will work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions and will walk on uneven ground.

VIEW JOBS 12/5/2019 12:00:00 AM 2020-03-04T00:00 Overview / Responsibilities Wood is currently seeking a Civil Superintendent, WIND Construction to plan and supervise Assistant Superintendents and/or craft activities for our WIND construction projects. This person will be based (for 8-12 months) at one of our WIND construction project sites in the Great Plains and Pacific Northwest US. Responsibilities: * Coordinate assigned work with work of different crafts, company departments, or other contractors * Maintain liaison with engineering, estimating, and planning to ensure work complies with drawings, specifications, and schedule * Assist in resolving construction problems (lack of productivity, work interfaces, etc.) * Monitor craft compliance with project safety program requirements; document and ensure corrective measures are implemented * Maintain liaison with other departments (i.e., Material Control, Purchasing, Quality Control, Engineering) to ensure all required materials, equipment, inspections, etc., support craft activities and project schedule * Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction * Delegate responsibility and assure its proper completion * Additional responsibilities are defined in the relevant process procedure Skills / Qualifications Qualifications: * Civil / Structural field installation experience within a power or heavy industrial environment * Wind/Turbine Construction experience * 10 years supervisory experience in power plant or with heavy industrial construction * Demonstrated ability to supervise 50 or more employees * Demonstrated planning and scheduling experience * Four to five years previous experience as a General Foreman or 3 Years as a Superintendent in a single discipline on an industrial construction project * Previous knowledge of man hour reports, job cost reports, workface planning and estimating is required * Minimum of 8 years supervisory experience in; similar facility construction technology, methods, equipment, tools and work procedures required * Advanced understanding of construction scheduling, cost control and ability to control and supervise large groups Demonstrated knowledge of, reading & interpreting and working to: * Civil / Structural design drawings (isometric and orthographic), design guides, specifications * Civil / Structural Support Drawings and specifications * Contract documents and site coordination of subcontractors Communication Skills: * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, plus demonstrated ability to work across varied disciplines * Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing * Ability to read and comprehend complex instructions, correspondence and memos * Ability to write simple correspondence. * Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization. Reasoning Ability: * Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete and abstract variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
