A Merchandiser at Bell Nursery is the face of our Company to our Client's Customers. Additionally, they serve as some of the hardest workers around during our peak seasonal months. This role is responsible for the visual merchandising, un-loading & stocking shipments of live goods and, customer relations at this location. The Merchandiser reports to local leadership including store, area and, district leadership. The Merchandiser will work with Client associates including retail and, receiving partners. Bell Merchandisers often return to Bell for many seasons and become like family.

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Comply with Bell Company policies and procedures while driving the Bell Brand "Act Like You Own It"

  • Maintain world class client relationship

  • Execute merchandising standards at client location

  • Daily, communication with Leadership around any execution or operational obstacles

  • Advocate for watering standards to ensure the well-being of our live goods

  • Stock tables and displays with merchandise while keeping garden center in order and planogram compliant with Client expectations

  • Ensuring proper signage is in place at all times

  • Responsible for ensuring all delivery orders are accurate and checked in properly

  • Make sure all carts are accurately merchandised with up to date signage and are easy to shop

  • Support accurate inventory standards

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • Eager to work and up for a challenge

  • A basic knowledge of plants and gardening or an interest in learning about plants and gardening would be helpful, of course!

  • Possess a great level of professionalism and strong communication skills

  • Experience merchandising helps but, a great attitude is more important

  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment

  • Ability to complete tasks while maintaining order

  • Initiative to work at challenging personal pace without constant direct oversight

  • Basic computer savvy to include use of smart phones/devices on a daily basis for time keeping

Requirements

  • Weekend availability is highly desired

  • Opportunity to take on additional hours during peak season offset by streamlined duties during non-peak season

  • Access to reliable transportation

  • Effective communication skills

  • Candidate must be able to stand for long period of time and be able to carry up to 40 lbs.

High school diploma or equivalent
