Under general direction, Wildlife Staff Specialists perform program research, planning, analysis and evaluation; draft proposed legislation, policies, procedures and regulations related to wildlife management programs and activities throughout the State.

We're seeking a proactive individual to our department's restoration, rehabilitation, and funding initiatives. As a key player, you'll administer various funding opportunities, including the Wildlife Heritage, Habitat Conservation Fee, Upland Game Bird, Duck Stamp, and conservation bond programs, all aimed at bolstering habitat quality and wildlife populations.

In this role, you'll ensure that agency objectives are met by overseeing program and project management needs such as reviewing projects, budget management, schedule tracking, and database management and maintenance, contracting, and interagency agreements. As a leader in this position, you'll act as a liaison with state and federal land management agencies, as well as various conservation organizations, to secure and leverage funds for habitat restoration efforts. Collaboration with restoration biologists and other stakeholders will be key to addressing major resource challenges, particularly in Nevada's Great Basin region. Your fiscal responsibilities will include managing grants and agreements, overseeing contracts and subgrants, and contributing to policy development to drive the success of our restoration and rehabilitation program. Operating within department policies and legal frameworks, you'll exercise judgment and ingenuity to prioritize work and devise effective strategies.
