Wildland Fire Suppression Specialist ($3471.00 - $5211.00, Monthly plus benefits).
Must have 2 years of Wildland Firefighting experience. (Please clearly identify how you meet the 2 years of Wildland Firefighting experience in your work history)
One 3-6 month season is equivalent to one year of experience for seasonal positions only.
18 years of age.
Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
Will be required to take and pass the physical fitness Work Capacity Test at the arduous level.
General Duties:
Complete wildland firefighting activities; locate fires using maps, Global Positioning System (GPS), and compass. Will teach.
Construct fireline using hand tools or power equipment by cutting, scraping, digging, and chopping or burning out to remove flammable materials.
Operate many different types of fire equipment.
Skills we are looking for:
Experience working collaboratively as a member of a team.
Ability to perform in high stress, fast paced emergency situations.
Ability to use hand tools and operate motorized equipment commonly used for wildland fire.
