Responsible for providing leadership for the development of systems focused on quality by working proactively with all managers and employees on continual improvement efforts. Lead the team to achieve quality targets for customers and business goals.
Role and Responsibilities
Observe and enforce compliance with all established safety rules and regulations
Monitor Plant Intelligence Center to manage and prioritize change overs, equipment maintenance and repairs, product quality issues, cycle times and labor utilization and attend meetings as required.
Ensure adherence to WPS Operational Excellence Manual and all associated policies and processes
Helps support building a strong team that is cross functional across all Departments
Leads Quality Department personnel through defined processes
Coordinates with other departments to meet objectives and to satisfy the customer
Work closely with customers regarding quality of product
Ensure testing of product and operational procedures
Evaluates data identifying non-conforming material and products
Recommends modifications to specs and standards to achieve optimum quality
Creates and implements statistical control processes as needed
Trains associates in standardized work procedures and to recognize quality and to perform duties successfully
Receives, reviews, analyzes and documents customer complaints and/or returns
Drives quality culture to maintain ISO and IATF certifications
Recruits, screens and hires quality department employees
Partners with Human Resources to analyze developmental gaps and optimize training opportunities
Collects, analyzes and reports data to measure personnel performance
Coaches personnel and completes disciplinary documentation per policy
Cooperates with other management personnel in formulating and establishing company policies, procedures, and goals.
Visits and confers with representatives of material and component vendors to obtain information related to supply quality, capacity of vendor to meet orders, and vendor quality standards.
Confers with engineers about quality of new products and manufactured products to rectify problems.
Functions as Management Representative and reports to top management the performance and need for improvement of the quality management system.
Ensures promotion of awareness of customer requirements throughout the organization.
Ensures product quality and has authority to stop nonconforming processes until problems are corrected.
Promote employee training objectives and ensure compliance with all WilbertU training requirements
Identify high potential employees and actively develop team members to build bench strength and plan for succession
Manage resources to meet or exceed established targets for scrap, customer satisfaction, process auditing and supplier performance.

Ensure that all shift personnel's work hours, attendance and vacation are accurately managed and recorded
