Whs Summer Transition Program Counselor

Applications will be accepted for Adjustment Counselor for the grant funded Summer Transition Program to be held at Westfield High School. Session 1 will be Monday, August 5th

• Thursday, August 8th, and Session 2 will be Monday, August 12th

• Thursday, August 15th.
  Staff hours will be 8:45 am

• 1:45 pm (Student hours are 9:00 am

• 1:30 pm). Staff will be paid for 5 hours of prep time per session.

Salary: $42.50 per hour with no benefits not to exceed 50 hours.

Citizenship, residency, or work VISA in the United States required

REPORTS TO: Principal and Program Coordinator

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assist in developing project based learning activities.
Work collaboratively with grade level teachers to plan and develop lessons and activities.
Evaluate students' social growth, keep appropriate records and prepare progress reports in collaboration with teachers.
Establish and maintain standards of student behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere in the classroom.
Strive to develop positive relationships with students.
Provide student counseling and support as needed.
Identify student needs and cooperate with other professional staff members in assessing students.
Supervise students in out-of-classroom activities during the assigned day.
Perform duties that may be assigned by the Building Principal and Program Coordinator.
