Wholesale Portfolio Risk Management (WPRM) is responsible for portfolio management for the wholesale portfolio across U.S. Bank. The functions include risk identification, risk appetite, portfolio construction and asset allocation strategies, and management of concentration, correlation and specialized risks and the associated risk mitigation. The team provides independent risk management and governance. The Group works closely with the business and various other key constituents to build out a comprehensive and proactive approach to portfolio management that promotes a strong risk management culture, aligned with U.S. Bank's risk appetite.
The WPRM Officer, as part of Credit Risk Management, manages and identifies risk for several Corporate Banking lending industries and portfolios in Wholesale. The person is responsible for developing pro-active and forward-looking viewpoints regarding their portfolio and creating solutions and recommendations for managing risk and influencing change. This includes application of portfolio management strategies with focus on corporate finance and risk / return profile and management of concentration and correlation risk through ensuring compliance with various limit frameworks. Additionally, the WPRM Officer is responsible for directing, monitoring, and coordinating risk management projects for assigned Corporate Banking lending industries / portfolios.
Identifies current and emerging risks of an assigned lending industry / portfolio, and develops conclusions and recommendations for managing risk
Works closely with the business line and credit approval and provides expertise and consultation regarding industry and portfolio credit issues and risks
Manages the risk management strategies and elements of an assigned lending industry / portfolio, including credit quality and portfolio management strategies
Ten plus years of experience in commercial lending, portfolio management or credit underwriting
Extensive knowledge of commercial lending and credit standards, policies, procedures and products
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent presentation, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
Well-developed negotiating skills and networking ability
Demonstrated proficiency and knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
Knowledge and experience with the CAPE.net underwriting platform
Ability to interpret data, draw conclusions and recommend next steps
Bachelor's or Master's degree with an emphasis on accounting, finance, and economics
