Whole Kids Foundation, in its eighth year of operation, is on a mission to change the way we feed our kids! We support a network of more than 11,000 schools and dozens of regional partners. Our mission is to support schools and inspire families to improve children's nutrition and wellness.

Whole Cities Foundation, launched in 2014, is working with communities to increase access to healthy foods and nutrition education. We have a very deep focus in Newark, NJ; Detroit, MI; New Orleans, LA; Jackson, MS; and the Greater Englewood neighborhood in Chicago, IL. Additionally, we work with communities across the U.S. in partnership with passionate Team Members through a unique Community First Grant program.

This Team Member position serves both foundations to develop and manage strategic marketing, communications and fundraising campaigns. Responsible for foundation campaigns within Whole Foods Market as well as digital and independent corporate partner campaigns and related internal and external communication efforts. Position requires working knowledge of digital marketing to include website, newsletters, social media and promotions. Provides leadership and management of Digital Content Program Manager and works closely with Communications Project Manager, Team Member Engagement Leader and Senior Development Program Manager. Coordinates with Team Member Engagement Leader, Programs Team, programmatic partners and supplier partners/sponsors, as needed. This position requires coordination with internal Whole Foods Market global, regional and store stakeholders as well as external partners. Reports to Senior Team Leader of Communications & Development.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Collaborates, plans and executes strategic plans for multiple fundraising & awareness campaigns (digital, register, in-store and event-based) annually to meet communication and fundraising goals

  • Manages & provides directional support to Digital Content Program Manager

  • Leads marketing, communication, and collaborative team planning for campaigns and other foundation communication efforts and related events

  • Oversees digital donor acquisition strategy, digital fundraising and recurring donor programs including development & growth of digital donor base in coordination with Senior Team Leader, Communications & Development

  • Collaborates & works closely with Whole Foods Market global marketing team for in-store & digital campaigns

  • Develops relationships and consistent communication with all stakeholders

  • Manages the planning, production and execution of all campaigns including but not limited to: collaboration on strategy and objectives, understanding consumer/donor insights and multi-channel results, writing strategic and creative briefs, providing recaps, analytics and assessments

  • Supports and collaborate with Team Member Engagement Leader for all applicable campaigns for internal communications and trainings, as needed

  • Works with creative, content and digital teams and freelancers for content and creative development

  • Communicates program objectives, elements, key dates and results to multiple stakeholder groups

  • Other communication, project and operational duties, as needed.

Knowledge, skills and abilities required:

  • Knowledge and passion for the missions of both foundations

  • Passion for Whole Foods Market core values & culture

  • 5 - 7 years of marketing experience, preferably in retail, food, packaged goods industries or nonprofit sector

  • Bachelor's degree

  • A proven commitment to diversity, inclusion and equity

  • Strategic thinker with experience creating and executing comprehensive communication & marketing campaigns

  • Demonstrable acumen and experience in working with multi-communications channels to achieve results

  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to command lots of details simultaneously

  • Strong writing and editing skills

  • Working knowledge of marketing design & graphic fundamentals

  • Strong sense of urgency and follow-through

  • Ability to manage projects from concept to fruition with demonstrated success

  • Experience in creating and managing goal-driven events for awareness and fundraising

  • Excellent communication skills including ability to give clear direct feedback, set clear expectations and connect with people on a personal level

  • Ability to juggle multiple projects at once in a fast-paced, results oriented environment

  • Proven relationship builder with diverse stakeholder groups and a deep respect and regard for the inherent strengths and capacities within every community

  • Understanding and passion for nonprofit work

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

  • A desire and ability to be a team player who appreciates a unique, entrepreneurial and collaborative environment

  • Energetic, friendly and self-motivated attitude

This position is based in Austin, Texas at the Whole Foods Market Global Headquarters. We work a40-hour week and workdays are typically Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm, with occasional weekend and evening hours for events. Some travel is required.
