Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Primary functions may include the following duties, responsibilities, skills, abilities, and other characteristics. Support schools in utilizing discipline, school climate, attendance, chronic absenteeism, PBIS, PBIS Tiered Fidelity Inventory, and other wellness data to support PBIS, behavior management, and attendance across the district as well as to inform One Needs Assessment and One Plan or district and school improvement planning
Form relationships and build trust with individual buildings to develop, implement, and build capacity for discipline, school climate, attendance, chronic absenteeism, Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports
Form relationships with all District departments related to Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports, including but not limited to: School Behavior, School Climate, School Improvement, Special Education, Equity, District Leadership, Counseling, Data and Accountability
Collaborate with community partners and educational entities (such as the ESC) to continue their partnership
Guide PBIS teams in understanding how PBIS aligns and integrates with other district and school initiatives such as prevention education, trauma-informed practices, student wellness, student assistance programs, attendance, chronic absenteeism, and school safety initiatives
Support district and buildings with integration and alignment of MTSS, family engagement and attendance strategies and student outcome data
Support PBIS teams in understanding the PBIS recognition award application process and creating an organized evidence collection system for the year.
Support PBIS district and school teams with a comprehensive needs assessment that explores current PBIS, behavior, or attendance support.
Lead the buildings in HB410 attendance procedures, review attendance percentages, and work with buildings to implement strategies to improve attendance; work with the court truancy liaison for grades 7-12
Lead PBIS teams in the development and implementation of their building PBIS core features through the Tiered Fidelity Inventory.
Lead the District PBIS/SEL team in regular meetings to share best practices and keep a pulse on programming that is occurring across the District
Promote capacity for sustainable and high-fidelity districtwide PBIS implementation by assisting district and building teams with the PBIS Implementation
Create and lead the sustainable and high-fidelity districtwide PBIS implementation by assisting district and building teams with the PBIS Implementation Blueprint and District Systems Fidelity Inventory.
Identify and support implementation of evidence-based instruction and interventions to support student wellness and regular attendance needs across the age 3 - 22 student population.
Work collaboratively with staff in buildings, administrators, outside agencies on training and coaching needs.
Coach selected district and building leaders to improve instructional leadership and facilitation of coaching within the OIP in relation to PBIS framework, chronic absenteeism, and support system-wide implementation to improve school climate and reduce exclusionary discipline practices and increase attendance.
Lead and support the building Tiered Fidelity Inventory (TFI) and district tiered fidelity inventory (DTFI) to ensure completion as well as establish resources and systems for coaching schools at the local level.
Communicate federal, state, and regional updates and opportunities, and resources regarding attendance, chronic absenteeism, and PBIS the buildings and district as a whole
Support the buildings using data for Tiers 1,2,3 to determine best supports (e.g., school climate survey)
Share school climate data and lead buildings in making recommendations to improve outcomes
Support buildings in fully understanding Tier 1, 2, and 3 of PBIS and related documentation.
Make fiscally responsible decisions as it pertains to PBIS
Professional Learning and Training
Providing district staff with coaching and professional learning opportunities to improve their knowledge and implementation of PBIS and leading to improvements in school climate and reductions in disciplinary removals (Pre-K-12).
Deliver training related to HB 410 and provide updates as necessary
Assist building and district leadership team with organizing personnel and resources to facilitate, assist, maintain and adapt school training implementation efforts.
Deliver PBIS Tier I team training for district and/or building teams.
Deliver additional PBIS training(s) for teams that demonstrate readiness: Tier II, Tier III, PBIS Classroom Practices, etc. in the PBIS Framework and any other PBIS training including in person and/or online.
Complete quarterly reports for training delivered as requested.
Deliver training with a trauma-informed and culturally responsive lens
