Wheeling Park Good Lake/Mini Golf Attendant

SUMMARY

Assists guest visiting Wheeling Park's Good Lake and Mini Golf areas.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Follow opening, daily and closing procedures.

• Help coworkers as needed.

• Interact with the public with a cheerful and positive attitude, solve guest problems and complaints in a proper manner, and maintain harmonious working relationships with fellow employees.

Opening:

• Patrol the mini-golf course for any debris.

• Check for any supplies that might be needed and report to supervisor.

• Organize all mini-golf clubs.

Daily:

• Wait on all customers in a friendly and timely manner.

• Assign boat numbers and direct the dock person to which boat is next.

• Watch all boating and golf patrons to make sure they are obeying the rules and regulations.

• Call in all boats at the correct time. Use appropriate language when using the microphone. (See Microphone Standards)

• Wipe off all golf balls and golf clubs as they come in and put in the appropriate spot.

• Check the cash register to determine if change is needed. If so, let the supervisor know.

• Make sure your area is neat and clean at all times.

• During slow periods, patrol the golf course for any debris that might be on the ground. Check garbage cans as needed, empty as needed.

• Help other areas as needed.

Closing:

• Take the register off and fill out the appropriate forms.

• Clean golf balls and golf clubs and put away in appropriate spots.

• Make sure there are plenty of supplies for the next day, i.e., boat slips, cash reports, pencils, cash register tape.

• Clean and organize your area.

• Sweep and pick up all litter on the mini-golf course.

• Change all garbage cans on the mini-golf course, and scrub them if necessary.

• Help the other areas in their closing procedures.

• Floor must be swept and mopped every night.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Less than high school education; or up to one month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
