Job Summary
Hiring Range: $57,470.40 - $75,741.12/Year. It is anticipated the hiring rate offered will be +/- the midpoint range depending on qualifications.
Port Corpus Christi Authority (PCCA) is currently seeking a dynamic professional to join our team! This position, under the general supervision of the Wharfinger, is responsible for assisting in overseeing, monitoring, and maintaining situational awareness and daily activities of PCCA properties and facilities with PCCA customers, tenants, operators, agents and stevedores.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Assists in monitoring and maintaining situational awareness of PCCA properties and any special purpose events that may occur on PCCA properties. PCCA properties include, but are not limited to, Foreign Trade Zone areas, all PCCA docks, all PCCA laydowns, and La Quinta Terminal areas
Actively oversees PCCA and tenant compliance with applicable PCCA tariffs. Wears proper PPE, promotes safety awareness and environmental consciousness, and complies with all applicable safety and environmental procedures and regulations and ensures users do same
Monitors and records daily activities of the PCCA properties to include public oil docks, cargo docks, and laydown areas utilizing software
Accompanies PCCA Accounting staff monthly to determine storage space use by customers and users for billing in accord with PCCA tariff
Confers and coordinates daily activities with customer representatives, shipping agents, stevedoring companies, trucking companies and any other personnel working at the docks along with PCCA's Harbormaster Office, Business Development, Engineering, Accounting, Risk Management and all Operations Departments
Assists in the organization and coordination of facilities for maximum utilization by users and ensures compliance with PCCA tariff rules and regulations, lease agreements and permits
Assists in PCCA customer relations, providing effective, quality customer service and ensuring customers utilize facilities as planned or required
Represents Wharfinger at internal and external meetings, as needed
Anticipates potential congestion and coordinates with Wharfinger to reduce impact
Performs visual inspections of facilities, identifies and documents areas needing attention/repairs, makes recommendations for projects and improvements to facilities for budget process, and documents inspections with software
Generates work orders for repairs of PCCA properties using maintenance management software (i.e. MaintainX)
Prepares related reports and correspondence, as needed
Adheres to Port policies, SEA PORT values, and maintains good employee relations
Performs other duties as assigned
CPR certified or the ability to become CPR certified within the first year of employment
Tier 2 status designation
Up to 75% of time to be in the field performing duties as outlined above
CANDIDATE PROFILE
The preferred candidate for this position must possess good communication skills, be an organized, thorough, and disciplined individual. They must possess the following:
EDUCATION & CREDENTIALS
High school diploma or equivalent required; minimum of four years of related experience preferred
Bachelor's (BS/BA) degree from an accredited college or university preferred; minimum of one year of related experience is preferred
Ability to obtain and maintain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) during course of employment
Valid driver's license

TECHNICAL SKILLS
Ability to read, understand, interpret, explain and apply port tariffs, lease agreements, technical information, PCCA and governmental regulations
Must possess effective business communication utilizing correct English including spelling, grammar and punctuation
Proficiency with personal computers, including MS Office, word processing (Word), spreadsheets (Excel), Outlook and other related applications and with ability to operate standard office equipment
Familiar with the use and application of maintenance management software
Familiar with sUAS/drone operation
Familiar with Geographic Information System application and operation
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Ability to perform essential job functions, including but not limited to frequent standing, walking, sitting, speaking or hearing, typing and occasional reaching, stooping, kneeling, lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation
Must be able to walk and stand on level and/or inclined surfaces for certain periods throughout the day. Must be able to climb stairs, ramps, ladders, and work stands, crouch, crawl, grasp or handle objects, use finger dexterity, bend elbow/knee and reach above/below shoulders
Ability to work in a general office environment and in the field with exposure to the elements when visiting worksites. Exposure to adverse weather conditions. Exposure to fumes and /or air particulates. Work in high precarious places. Risk of electrical shock and moving mechanical parts. Moderate noise levels. Working off boats or barges
Ability to operate light-weight highway vehicles and standard office equipment and to work the requisite hours to fulfill position objectives, including evenings and/or weekends, as needed
