Wet Zone Pool Maintenance Technician (Seasonal)

Description

Position Overview: Under the direction of the Athletics/Aquatics Supervisor, the Pool Maintenance Technician will assist in maintaining mechanical equipment, restroom areas, grounds, and buildings at the Water Park.

Essential Job Functions

Assists in maintaining water quality and daily maintenance reports. Opens and closes facility as needed.

Performs related duties and special projects as assigned. Responsible for regular attendance and arriving to work on time. Maintains restroom areas, grounds, and buildings at the Water Park; miscellaneous janitorial duties.

Picks up trash, vacuums pools, and cleans pool-related mechanical items. Performs maintenance tasks, and repairs equipment and property as needed.

Minimum Requirements

High School Diploma or GED preferred. Background in aquatics or recreation is desirable.

Ability to read and write to complete daily reports and comprehend simple operating instructions. Ability to do simple math to mix chemicals and solutions.

Initiative and ability to foresee problem conditions or safety risks at the Water Park and take corrective action. Ability to maintain a good working relationship with other employees and maintain a good relationship with all age groups and the public.

Other Requirements

Will work a varying schedule, including weekends and holidays as designated by the Athletic/Aquatic Supervisor.

American Red Cross (or equivalent) LG certification required.

A valid Class "C" Driver's License is required and ability to maintain City driving standards in accordance with the driver standards as established by the City of Rowlett. Must report all traffic citations to his/her departmental Director or his/her designee pursuant to City policy.
