Caregiver, Direct Support Professional - Opportunities available at Arizona MENTOR in Phoenix, Gilbert and Mesa!

Schedule options depend on program however we can typically work with your availability and offer options such as:

  • Full-time, part-time, and on-call/ "as needed"
  • Early mornings, evenings, overnights, and weekends

As a Caregiver you will support people with activities of daily living such as:

  • Transporting to medical appointments, errands, shopping or activities in your community

  • Providing guidance with social skills, advocacy, self esteem

  • Teaching strategies to live as independently as possible

  • Personal hygiene, bathing, toileting, grooming, preparing meals, and assisting with medication administration

  • Assisting individuals to redirect challenging behaviors

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required

  • Must be 18 years of age

  • Valid driver's license in good standing required

  • Access to a registered vehicle with proof of insurance

  • Successful clearance of local and/or state background checks including a valid Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance card

  • Compassionate approve

  • Reliable, responsible attitude

BLS certification is required. Additional certification or continuing education may be required based on area of practice. Relates throughout the interview process the experience, training and education needed to perform the job. Experience in the clinical area for which he or she is applying is desired. Must maintain clinical performance competencies appropriate to the area in which they work as demonstrated through annual validations. Banner Registry and Travel acute care positions require a minimum of one year experience in an acute care hospital setting. Experience must include working in an acute care setting within the past 12 months as a Registered Nurse in the specialty area. Banner Registry and Travel physician practice positions require a minimum of one year experience as a Registered Nurse in a physician practice or an acute care setting.
