About us: WesleyLife is a nonprofit healthcare organization dedicated to serving adults, since 1947.

We offer a continuum of person-centered care throughout Iowa. Come July, we expand into Illinois and the Quad Cities via a new business venture under the WesleyLife umbrella called WellSpire. Currently, we have eight Communities for Healthy Living (CHLs), which will quickly increase up to twelve within the next couple years.

Our WesleyLife At Home Services (HCBS) span fifteen counties, and includes home-based care such as Hospice, Home Health, In-Home Services and Public Health. We also provide community nutrition through our Meals on Wheels program and transportation service through Wesley Wheels, and we continue to grow.

Given our growth, WesleyLife has a newly created position- Hospice Relations Manager.

You have a passion for end-of-life services and are excited about the opportunity to grow and expand our hospice care beyond WesleyLife's CHLs and HCBS networks. You utilize your knowledge and resources to create an outreach plan that strategically identifies the regions and partners that offer the most potential for growth.

You have current working knowledge of hospice conditions of participation and understand the competitive market, thus are encouraged by the opportunity to learn about WesleyLife's network of services. Your collaborative efforts and teamwork approach, allows you to easily and consistently identify opportunities for integration of service ensuring we provide the best care to those in need. Your plan in action includes presenting WesleyLife Hospice, and our network of services, to senior centers, churches, CCRCs, and attending vendor fairs, tradeshows and other target market events.

In addition to the training and support you will receive, you will be responsible for developing viable resources, actively making calls and scheduling appointments to educate the community at large of WesleyLife Hospice and potential integration of our network of services. Your drive and exceptional interpersonal skills builds and maintains positive relationships with those we serve and their families, internal and external providers, and team members.

You continually cultivate effective business partnerships. Not only do you have a dynamic personality, and prior B2B relationship building, you also have client facing experience. Exceptional presentation skills effortlessly aid you in effectively conveying WesleyLife's mission, vision and values.

Given this role predominantly is in the field, WesleyLife provides a dedicated fleet vehicle to eliminate personal travel expenses, thus alleviating any concerns that coincide with a mobile office. RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Successfully establish partnerships with health care providers and grow and develop external hospice referrals to increase those we serve.

  • Establish and grow WesleyLife Hospice as a trusted provider and preferred referral source for Independent and Assisted Living communities and home care providers that do not offer internal hospice services to those they serve.

  • Providing administrative and marketing related support such as coordinating, assembling and delivering mailings, special announcements and up-to-date collateral across areas where business needs have been identified.

  • Utilize our Customer Relationship Management system (CRM) to identify and establish relationship tracking and then report on weekly outreach itineraries and outcomes and subsequent follow up.

  • Report to the Director of Sales with dotted line reporting to our Executive Director of Home Health and Hospice. This role includes working collaboratively with WesleyLife liaisons and leaders across various departments within our network of services.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a Healthcare Administration, Health Science or related field is preferred. Equivalent experience in healthcare and/or sales will be considered.

  • Minimum 2 years experience working directly in or associated with hospice, such as on the provider side.

  • Strong working knowledge of the Des Moines metropolitan and surrounding area market, including an established network of contacts within the medical community.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.

  • Microsoft Office proficiency in Outlook, Word and PowerPoint, with the ability to quickly learn on new systems, software and hardware.

  • Has current Iowa driver's license and reliable, insured transportation.

Working with the Sales Directors at the CHLs, the Directors of each HCBS program, and the Marketing/Sales/Communications Team at the NSC, the Director of Marketing ensures the programs and services of the organization, and the individuals who represent them, are supported with the tools needed to achieve and exceed budgeted occupancy and revenue goals. RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: * Support each CHL in developing annual high-level marketing plans, by working with the local teams to understand the community's unique market realities and collaborating to develop plans to successfully compete. * Work with each CHL weekly to review the marketing plan, current results, and develop targeted campaigns and the tools, materials and presentations to address budget shortfalls to achieve organizational revenue and occupancy goals. * Provide marketing support to In-Home Services, Home Health, Hospice, Wesley Wheels and Meals on Wheels – developing annual marketing plans and executing strategies to achieve or exceed budgeted goals, amending plans and strategies throughout the year to respond to emerging needs and/or opportunities. * Develop marketing strategy for existing products as well as maintain market awareness to identify opportunities for new product offerings for the CHLs and HCBS. This may require working collaboratively with other team members including executive directors, operations or nursing leaders and others throughout the organization. * Serve as lead staff for all sales-related materials development – identifying the need, developing the recommendation for the tool, material or presentation, working with the NSC team to develop the message, then collaborating with designated design/marketing specialists to complete the project and implement the new strategy or tool. * Conduct and analyze market research studies as needed, to determine market capacity for expansion, or development in new markets. * Annually coordinate and analyze competitive analyses for each CHL, making recommendations for promotional offerings, rate adjustments and/or other strategies to most effectively position the community to successfully compete. * Engages in continuous analysis and awareness of competitive environment and consumer trends. This may include periodic competitive touring, participation in peer networking groups and/or attendance at industry meetings or conferences. * Maintains network of key professional contacts and cultivates them routinely to ensure WesleyLife is positively positioned in each market in which it operates. * Participates in the quarterly Sales Summits with the Sales Directors from the CHLs, preparing materials, providing strategic insight and presenting market intel as needed. Job Requirements Expected Outcomes: * Meet or exceed annual budgeted occupancy and revenue goals for all service lines. * Achievement of quarterly and annual project milestones and goals as established each year and/or each quarter. * Achievement of stated position responsibilities in collaboration with other WesleyLife team members. * High reported levels of satisfaction from customers and family members regarding the marketing process. Competencies and Knowledge: * 7+ years of marketing leadership in senior living is highly desired. * A bachelor's degree in marketing, sales, business or related field is required.
