The Wellness Services Coordinator overseas the medical needs of residents in care. This is a professional position that requires autonomous functioning under the direction of a management team member.
A Bachelor of Science or an Associates Degree in Nursing is required.
Degree should be described as a BSN or ASN
RN in the State of Florida
Experience in working with young people, preferably with at-risk populations
Current Florida RN License
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with both children and adults
Must be able to demonstrate basic knowledge and competence in using a computer
Must be familiar with basic data bases, entry and retrieval
Must be able to prepare programs and present to various sized groups
Florida Drivers License
Sensitivity to the service populations cultural and socioeconomic characteristics
Familiarity and working knowledge of DCF, AHCA, and COA standards, policies and procedures, preferred
American Safety and Health Institute First Aid, CPR and AED Instructor certification, preferred.
Must obtain instructor certification within three (3) months of employment
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Schedule and coordinate all admission, yearly physicals and dental exams
Monitor all medications that are dispensed to residents
Oversee medication logs and conducts quarterly audits for compliance
Ensure all documents and consents are current and in order to ensure contractual compliance
Coordinate with other departments as needed regarding the medical welfare of the youth.
Coordinate with the Medical Director regarding all medical, vision, dental, medication, pharmacy, etc, needs
Ensure all medical information on the youth is verified and submitted to direct care staff
Verify insurance plans are accepted with medical, dental, vision, laboratory, and pharmacy providers as part of coordination of care
Train and monitor direct care staff
Maintain constant communication with various pharmacies that fill childrens prescriptions
Maintain and complete medication management schedule for children on campus
On call 24 hours each day, 7 days a week for staff questions/concerns
Must be available within 1 hour of a call if needed to be present for a restraint
This job has supervisory responsibilities over two (2) Administrative Assistants and a part-time Registered Dietician
