This position works under the direct supervision of the Resident Services Coordinator to assist in the planning, development, implementation and monitoring of the Wellness Program for the residents of Vista/Mission Ridge.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION: Resident Responsibilities
Creates, enhances and maintains a culture of health, fitness and overall wellness.
Achieves and maintains a high volume of resident participation in wellness activities.
Ability to perform preliminary assessments for residents, staff, and community wellness participants.
Maintains and improves wellness programs with innovation in order to avoid resident participation burnout.
Maintains professional certification(s) and perpetuates personal professional growth.
Participates in the Resident Life Enrichment Team meetings and activities.
Assists Wellness Coordinator in developing policies/procedures, standards and qualifications for wellness classes.
Assists Wellness Coordinator in developing and maintaining outreach education for the community, staff and churches.
Assists Life Enrichment Coordinator in developing and maintaining activities to keep residents engaged.
Participates in community outreach events such as health fairs and education presentations.
Cultivates community-wide relationships to promote the Wellness Programs.
Helps to promote the Wellness Programs through the local media outlets.
Works closely with the Wellness and Resident Service Coordinators in developing and providing individual resident wellness plans.
Remains constantly aware of potential safety issues and follows up with Wellness and Resident Services Coordinators as appropriate.
Portrays an energetic, upbeat, vibrant attitude to enhance resident motivation.
Has a strong understanding of the seven dimensions of wellness and strives to incorporate these in wellness planning.

REQUIREMENTS: Minimum Requirements:
Knowledge and skills acquired through completion of high school. Experience and/or the willingness to be trained in instructing and coordination wellness activities such as; group fitness class, health education programming, and arthritis programs.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities required:
Must be knowledgeable about community resources, community events and other opportunities that will make the wellness program interesting and challenging to residents.
Ability to assist in developing, planning and coordinating activity programs along with the Wellness and Residents Services Coordinators.
Ability to work under time deadlines, manage time efficiently and work effectively with a variety of staff members, residents and other personnel
Must be self motivated and have the ability to perform multiple simultaneously.
