Job Overview:

Aveanna Healthcare, the heart of caring for patients in the wellness and immunization line of business, is seeking nurses i.e. Registered Nurse and/or Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse to work full-time being providing vaccination shots for Covid-19 prevention.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide IM injections of approved vaccinations for Covid 19 prevention

  • Maintain compliance with relevant policies and procedures pertaining to the role and function of nurses working in the wellness clinic or pharmacy

  • Report incidents and/or injuries/needle sticks

  • Ensure proper biohazardous waste utilization, transport and disposal

  • Maintain appropriate infection control standards and precautions

  • Implement and utilize proper use of PPE


Perform intramuscular injection and subcutaneous injection proficiently

  • Administer vaccines (per manufacturer instructions) proficiently and educate clients and caregivers about age specific immunizations, precautions/contraindications and possible adverse reactions

  • Transport vaccine(s) and maintain the cold chain process to promote desirable temperature conditions to maintain the shelf-life of the product

  • Ensure proper biohazardous waste transport and disposal

  • Maintains appropriate infection control standards and precautions

  • Maintain compliance with relevant policies and procedures pertaining to the role and function of nurses working in the wellness clinic

  • Implement emergency management responses to i.e., adverse reactions, anaphylaxis administer epinephrine per physician order

  • Report incidents and/or injuries/needle sticks

  • Implement proper biohazardous waste process/protocols

  • Implement proper utilization of PPE

Minimum Requirements:

Active and in good standing nursing license i.e. Registered nurse, Licensed practical nurse, Licensed vocational nurse

Meets professional nursing standards and pertinent local, state, and federal requirements Strong therapeutic communication Skills Preferred administrative data entry work experience, but not required Strong organizational skills with attention to detail Flexibility and timeliness in completing assigned tasks

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to speak, write, read and understand English Must be able to travel up to 30 miles, 10% of the time Must be able to lift 50 pounds

OSHA Respiratory Protection Program: Must complete the OSHA's Respiratory Protection Program I.e. N-95 respirator, face shields/goggles, gloves, gowns and if applicable, shoe coverings. Must be able to sufficiently move equipment without assistance. Must be able to sustain prolonged walking, standing, bending, kneeling, reaching, and twisting. Must be able to sit and climb stairs. Must have visual and hearing acuity.


Must be able to function in a wide variety of environments which may involve exposure to allergens and other various conditions, such as, possible exposure to blood, bodily fluids and infectious diseases

In this fast-paced role, you will apply a broad spectrum of clinical knowledge, working closely with the facility Director of Nursing and Attending Physicians to coordinate patient care for better outcomes. Ensuring continuity of care, you will function as the primary care provider and a leader to the nursing team as you follow patients through each step of their recovery. * Nurse Practitioner License * ANCC or AANP Certification * Ability to work in the U.S. * Experience in a nursing home space is a plus Typically, the APN is onsite, daily as a full-time practitioner, working a standard Monday - Friday work week with flexibility in the 40-hour work week.
