The YMCA of Greater Richmond is currently seeking a highly motivated, mission-driven, team-oriented professional to lead the wellness department at the 10th Street YMCA.

DUTIES

The Wellness Director will be responsible for the planning, implementation and supervision of all branch wellness programs. Specific wellness responsibilities include developing and implementing innovative wellness programming; overseeing the hiring, training, scheduling and supervision of wellness, personal training, and group exercise staff; working with members to assist them in reaching their wellness goals; and oversight of the wellness floor and equipment. As the staff member leading the wellness department, the Director will work closely and collaboratively with other departments to engage members and provide excellent service, as well as partnering with community groups to design and implement wellness initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS

A bachelor's degree in a wellness-related field is preferred. At least one year of related experience in wellness management is required.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal abilities and computer proficiency are necessary. The ability to effectively coach staff is essential. Candidates must be able to train and evaluate staff on proper exercise instruction.

Certifications:

CPR/AED/First Aid required

National Personal Training certification such as ACSM, ACE, and CSCS preferred

ACE or AFAA Group Exercise certification preferred

VIEW JOBS 7/18/2019 12:00:00 AM 2019-10-16T00:00 VCU seeks a full-time Director of Financial Wellness to coordinate a new initiative across VCU, housed in the School of Business. This position will establish a university-wide approach to financial independence for students, parents, alumni, and members of the larger VCU community. As part of a newly endowed position and endowed programming gifted by the Virginia Credit Union, the Director will be responsible for benchmarking best-in-class programs around the nation, assessing best performing programs within VCU, working with internal and external advisory boards and laying foundations for university-wide programming and innovative content. A primary objective will be to help students and families see financial wellness as an integral part of all collegiate choices, from class and major selection, time to graduation, internship and job selection, and expendables during their time as a student. The Director of Financial Wellness will work to provide a dashboard of metrics that best represents the efforts, ROI, and benefit to the student of financial wellness. The Financial Director will ensure that programming is multi-tactical and may involve curriculum, financial counseling to students in an individual or small group setting; through apps or virtual exchanges, and/or individual and organized sessions that allow students to acquire the critical skills, knowledge and confidence to manage money wisely. A driving goal for the Director and affiliated programming is undergraduate and graduate students' overall debt reduction and/or elimination during and after their collegiate experience(s). The Director and the ED will work closely to engage an external advisory board of financial experts who can advise on curriculum and trends in the applied learning space.
