Full time position with successful and evolving corporate fitness program that has been operating for over 35 years. Be a member of a team that is building and delivering a culture of fitness to over 3500 members.

Utilize all your health and fitness knowledge helping individuals overcome a variety health and fitness challenges and goals through training, program design and events. Create new fitness programs, challenges and systems for hundreds of participants to use.

A passion for educating others through health and fitness events, fitness coaching sessions, incentive programs, educational seminars, clinics and workshops all developed by you and your team.

Ability to effectively consult with and determine fitness and coaching needs of others.

A strong technical knowledge of training methods and program design and ability to administer programs.

Punctuality for opening and closing a fitness facility and for keeping a personal training and meeting schedule.

Skill performing fitness assessments, consultations and orientations for new program members.

Drive to deliver a clean and well-maintained fitness facility

Ability to analyze fitness stats and program data for presentations and operational needs

A love of learning about health and fitness and staying up to date on training methods and industry trends.

A strong willingness to uphold program policies and requirements.

High School diploma or GED (General Education Degree) equivalent required. Bachelor's degree in Exercise Physiology, Physical Education, Health Science or related field of study preferred. 2+ years experience in commercial or corporate fitness setting teaching or coaching preferred. 1+ years experience in personal training. Minimum of one year experience as group exercise instructor beneficial.


Current certification as a group exercise instructor and/or personal training certification and CPR and First Aid certifications required.


Ability to comprehend and interpret instructions, short correspondence, and memos and ask clarifying questions to ensure understanding. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from clients, co-workers, and/or supervisor. Ability to effectively present information to an internal department and/or large groups of employees.


Requires basic knowledge of financial terms and principles. Ability to calculate simple figures such as percentages.


Ability to understand and carry out general instructions in standard situations. Ability to solve problems in standard situations. Requires basic analytical skills.


Must possess competent knowledge of exercise principles and fitness testing. Able to sustain excessive physical activity for extensive periods of time. Proven record of providing excellent internal and external customer service Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Suite Products (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

VIEW JOBS 1/12/2019 12:00:00 AM 2019-04-12T00:00 Job Summary Wounded Warrior Project's (WWP) Physical Health & Wellness Specialist is responsible for developing and executing events and programs to educate, coach, and empower WWP Warriors in the pursuit of their physical health and wellness goals. Essential Duties & Responsibilities * Develop and execute physical activity programs for participants * Identify and customize nutrition programs and physical activities to assist in the restoration of various motor skills and physical strength of participants in a non-clinical setting * Ensure logistics, event planning, and oversight for Physical Health and Wellness (PH&W) events/programs * Monitor warrior program participation in various activities; provide encouragement, motivation, mentoring, and assistance in goal-oriented outcomes through both telephonic and in person coaching sessions * Identify new programs, equipment, and strategies that will enhance impactful programming for warriors * Interact with external resources to build relationships for programming and event opportunities * Conduct public speaking activities to raise awareness of PH&W programming and discuss the importance of starting and maintaining a healthy lifestyle * Responsible for a multi-state region that carries both an in-person and remote expectation to fulfill the needs of warriors and family members * Create and submit information to forecast and report on events, programs, warriors and family members served; maintain a budget * Work within various software programs to promote and track metrics to measure program impact * Train and mentor new teammates * Other related duties as assigned Knowledge, Skills & Abilities * Highly motivated, passionate, and creative team player with demonstrated commitment to the organization * Ability to teach, effectively engage program participants, and create individualized programming that will provide a basis for long term behavior change * Demonstrated aptitude in inclusive programming for nutrition, wellness, and fitness * Ability to provide high level of service to targeted client/customer base * Excellent organizational skills with ability to prioritize and complete assignments accurately and in a timely manner * Ability to take initiative, work independently, and adapt * Ability to troubleshoot, identify viable options, and problem-solve * Demonstrated proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office programs: Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint, CVent and Salesforce * Professional presence and demeanor * Excellent oral communications skills with the ability to communicate with diverse personalities in a tactful and mature manner Education & Experience Requirements * Bachelor's degree in exercise science, recreation management, or similar health management field of study required * Minimum of five (5) years of experience in fitness industry/allied health profession, health management, wellness coaching, strength and conditioning, and/or personal/athletic training required * Experience working with disabled individuals preferred * Military background/experience preferred * Minimum one (1) year event planning experience preferred * Must be able to travel between 25% - 50% of the time including overnight and weekend travel Certifications & Licensure * CPR-First Aid certification required * Personal Training certification (ACE, ACSM, NASM, NSCA), Strength and Conditioning certification (CSCS), or other related fitness certification preferred * Wellness Coaching certification preferred * ca-fa Wounded Warrior Project Houston TX
