Working under the direction of the Wellness Director, in a team-oriented, high volume, fast-paced, fitness driven role, the Wellness Attendant provides operational assistance and safety to members on the wellness floor. This is achieved by assisting them with equipment use and overall floor management while providing a safe and clean environment for all to use. The Wellness Attendant will consistently exhibit behaviors and attitudes that are consistent with the YMCA Mission and policies of the Association.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Wellness Center Operations:
Adheres to the Association operating policies and procedures by operating the programs within the guidelines set forth.
Maintains and cleans equipment and any wellness related rooms according to the schedule or as requested by supervisor/leadership.
Ensures that the highest quality of service is provided.
Performs any other duties as assigned by the Wellness Director.
Follows YMCA policies and procedures regarding the safety, health and welfare of members, program participants, guests and staff; responds to emergency situations in accordance to facility policies and certification requirements.
Completes all job related meetings and trainings as required. Not allowing any job-related certifications to expire.
Performs all other duties as assigned.

Make emotional connection with members/guests/and program participants
Represent the YMCA in a positive manner.
Preferred candidates:
Have prior work/volunteer experience in the fitness industry
Have prior work/volunteer experience in customer service
Are proficient in using email, internet and other PC related applications. Willing to learn and adapt to new technology.
Have the ability to understand, adapt to and interact with diverse people, teams, perspectives and cultures.
Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Hear noises and distress signals in the program environment, including in the classroom and anywhere around the zone of responsibility.
Must have flexibility and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances.
Ability to lift and move a minimum of 50 pounds.
Ability to stand for an extended period of time.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Ability to work in a variety of environments, specifically those subject to extreme humidity/dampness, heat and cold.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Availability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
