Job Summary
The Wellness Assistant works under the direction of the Wellness Director to provide support for all wellness programming classes, workshops, group visits, healthy food demonstrations and seasonal activities. This position is responsible for coordinating and facilitating traditional Alaska Native arts and craft activities and workshops for un'ina coming into the Dena'ina Wellness Center. The Wellness Assistant works both independently and collaboratively, leading traditional seasonal activities with programs across Kenaitze Indian Tribe, facilitating shared knowledge to support overall health and wellness.
Essential Functions
Develop monthly Alaska Native arts and crafts kits for wokshops and distributions
Facilitate weekly Alaska Native arts and crafts workshops
Assist in maintenance of DWC Campus raised traditional plant beds
Assist in creation of wellness education displays
Co-facilitate Chronic Disease Self-Management Education and Diabetes Self-Management Education classes
Ensures compliance with Tribal, federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, Tribal policies and TERO ordinance

Must have a valid Alaska State driver's license and must remain insurable under the Tribe's policy, or obtain within 90 days of hire, or, with approval of the hiring manager, sign a *Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in lieu of having a driver's license to perform the required duties of the position (If Applicable)
