ATTENTION: WELDING INSTRUCTORS

Everett Community College seeks a part-time, associate faculty member to join a dynamic team in the Aerospace and Advanced Manufacturing Careers Division.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.Teach courses in welding to prepare students to become certified welders with special emphasis on safety practices and quality.

2.Develop and teach the full range of classes from basics to certification including but not limited to: OAW, OFC, SMAW, GTAW, FCAW, GMAW, RAW, arc cutting methods, air carbon arc and plasma processes.

On plate and pipe in all positions with a variety of filler materials. All with an eye towards AWS and WABO certification.

3.Maintain a clean, well-organized welding shop.

4.Set shop standards to require students, hourly help, aides, and volunteers to perform tasks to ensure quality training.

5.Recruit students for the welding program.

6.Represent the college and the welding program by participating in community and national organizations that enhance the welding industry.

7.Stay current with state of the art welding/fabrication technology, processes and equipment.

8.Assist in coordinating articulation agreements with high schools and universities.

9.Maintain a high level of professionalism to set a standard for Associate Faculty.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associates degree pertinent to the welding industry AND 5 years of professional experience in a welding related field

  • Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum five years' experience in an independent leadership and customer service role

  • Possession of a current Washington State Professional Technical Teaching Certificate that permits full-time service as an instructor in the applicable discipline

  • Possession of current First Aid and CPR certification or higher

Salary $5,336 per 5-credit course, depending on proportion of lab and lecture hours.
