Job Overview
Komatsu is currently recruiting for a Welding Engineer for our Longview, Texas facility. Komatsu offer competitive salary, excellent benefits and bonus/merit potential.
Key Job Responsibilities
Maintain welder certifications.
Develop robotic welding processes.
Support robotic welding processes.
Write robotic welding programs.
Design fixturing for robotic welding processes.
Ensure all welding meets appropriate welding codes.
Assist Design Engineer with joint design and designing for manufacturability.
Meet with welding suppliers and vendors to ensure Letourneau Technologies' welding needs are being met.
Keep up to date with new welding processes, technologies, and equipment that will reduce costs, improve through put, or increase quality.
Work within the scope of lean manufacturing to ensure weld deposition is being maximized.
Provide repair procedures for in house and field repairs as needed.
Perform welder training as requested by Quality and or Fabrication Manager.
Write work instructions, company procedures, and or policies related to welding and fabrication.
Perform quality audits in all fabrication areas on a monthly basis.
Provide technical support for all welding and fabrication.
Maintain active membership in AWS.
Maintain or become a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI).
Work with supply chain to aid in any technical questions, qualifying suppliers, and or ensuring quality work is being performed.
Qualifications/Requirements
Bachelor's Degree (four years of study beyond high school) or a Master's Degree (five to six years of study beyond high school)
Minimum one to three years' experience, prefer two years
Knowledge in the field of welding and heavy fabrication
Knowledge in materials and properties
Experienced in developing, supporting and programming robotic welding operations
Writing procedures, Reading & Interpreting drawings and Standards
Welding and International Codes & Standards
Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various goods and services
Mathematics - Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and their applications.
