Mark III Construction is growing, and we are looking for a Field Welder/Fitter for a project in Bakersfield. We are looking for an experienced welder proficient in TIG, SMAW welding and or Pipe Fitting. The job will be temporary and expected to go June 2024 - November 2024.

Requirements

  • Lay out, fit, and fabricate metal components to assemble piping components
  • Consistently perform SMAW (Stick) pipe welds that meet ASME/AWS standards and can maintain welding certification.
  • Consistently perform GTAW (TIG) pipe welds that meet ASME/AWS standards and can maintain welding certification.
  • Able to perform their own pipe fitting as needed.
  • Able to work as part of a team.
  • Constantly seeks ways to improve efficiency, quality and cost control where applicable
  • Meet key business objectives including safety, quality, productivity, delivery, etc.
  • Production and quality requirements are met in order to satisfy the customer base in an efficient and cost effective manner
  • Determine appropriate welding techniques, by reading and analyzing plans and work orders, calculating requirements and studying materials.

  • Required to lift objects weighing up to 25lbs
  • Required walking for long and short distances, walking from one worksite to another.
  • Required to perform repetitive motion tasks

  • Required to bend or twist at the neck and torso
  • Required to crouching, squatting, stooping, kneeling
  • Required to use and climb ladders to work from heights
  • Required to use scissor, boom, and other personnel lifts to access the work area
  • Required to reach above head
  • Required to reach forward, grab, grasp, pinching, handle material and tools using upper extremities
  • Required to lift objects from low to high positions in horizontal to vertical motions
  • Required to talk, express, or exchange detailed, important information by means of verbal communication.
  • Constantly Required to hear sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction. Ability to hear detailed information and distinguish sounds to avoid hazards.
  • Required to have visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned
