Metalex powered by UPG is looking to fill a 2nd shift Welder position. There are opportunities for wage growth and career advancement.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Read and work from blueprints (welding symbols) and shop routings.

Demonstrate multiple welding procedures and techniques using different types of equipment to perform accurate welding operation on steel, stainless steel and aluminum of various thicknesses.

Perform various other duties in the department to maintain flow of production and department cleanliness as assigned.

Required to train other employees.

Comply with all health and safety procedures.

Adhere to basic housekeeping of work area, i.e., wood, scrap, metal, garbage, liquid spills.

Other duties as assigned by Supervisor or Department Assistant.

Qualifications

Welding/grinding/cutting, i.e., OFW, GTAW, GMAW.

Use of half-face or PAPR respirator as required by OSHA.

Verbal and written communication in English.

MIG Welding.

Read blueprints, both English and metric.

Understanding of ISO 9001:2015.

Knowledge of labor cards, routing and move ticket.

Knowledge of Company policies, shop, and safety rules.

Basic knowledge on the care and use of inspection devices; tape measure, combination square, protractor, caliper, etc.

Basic math skills.

As required, ability to perform repetitive bending, kneeling, and lift cumbersome and or heavy objects (up to 50 lbs.)
