You will serve as a WELDER SUPERVISOR I in the DEPARTMENT OF NAVY to include work sites of Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, Norfolk Naval Shipyard, Trident Repair Facility, Bangor, Trident Refit Facility, Kings Bay, and Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility

Applicants will only be considered for positions within their own UIC. For example: If you're within UIC 4523A, you will only be considered for positions within 4523A.

  • You will be planning the assignments of personnel, using equipment, facilitating scheduling qualifications and training and developing specialized skills and procedures.

  • You will be providing higher-level supervisors with written and verbal status.

  • You will be scheduling, coordinating and directing the accomplishment of work projects or operation in accordance with project needs and schedules.

  • You will be developing or providing input to develop processes and procedures for accomplishing the work.

  • You will be promoting and administering management programs such as safety, employee ideas, quality assurance, productivity improvement, cost reduction, and energy conservation.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Individual needs to be experienced in stick and wire feed applications. Individual must be a punctual, dependable, self-motivated, team player with a strong awareness of safety. Typical work activities include welding and working in all types of marine and industrial environments such as dry docks, piers, wharfs and waterfront building structures on Naval Facilities and other state and federal sites. The initial need for this position is multiple projects at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard in Bremerton, WA.
