This position is responsible for various types of welding processes GTAW, SMAW are the most common, GMAW & SAW are a plus, grinding operations to repair components back to OEM specifications. Welders will perform welding functions on a large variety of
custom-made parts using Inconel, Stainless Steel, carbon steel filler materials

Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate welding machines as well as various power/hand tools.
- Monitor the welding, burning, and fitting process to ensure parts are not overheated or damaged by wrapping, distortion, expansion or shrinkage.
- Work closely with the Machinists and Engineers to ensure welding is done properly.
- Performs daily preventative maintenance on welding tools and equipment as required.
- Responsible for the overall quality of the welding work including distortion and dimensional control and taking corrective actions.
- Operate cranes, electric stackers and other mechanical assists to move, position, and unload heavy parts and assemblies.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Conserve resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
- Contribute to team effort by training others in performance of welding tasks as needed.
- Inspect all work and ensure it meets requirements prior to passing it on to the next operation.
- Document actions by completing production and quality forms.
Position Requirements:
- Minimum of 1-3+ years experience in SMAW/GTAW welding in a manufacturing environment
is a plus or successful completion of an apprenticeship program or a prior welding certification.
- Experience using a variety of welding equipment and procedures (SMAW, GTAW,) are the processes used daily. Processes (GMAW, SAW) are used on occasion, and training will be provided.
- Ability to be crane and forklift certified.
- Ability to read blueprints and follow specific written instructions and procedures.
- Set up welding machines according to the WPS specifications.
- Working knowledge of hand tools including grinder, drills, angle finder, squares, and tapes measures.
- Basic understanding of mathematics as it relates to welding assignments.
- Ability to understand measuring equipment such as micrometer and dial calipers.
- Maintains a strong sense of urgency, initiative and ability to understand and solver productions problems.
- Knowledge of safety standards and a willingness to use protective clothing, safety glasses, face shields, gloves.
- Strong work ethic with the ability to work independently as well as on a team.
- Overtime and weekend work is required.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods of time.
- Visual and informational inspections of the welded surfaces to identify any defects.
- Weld test required, based on experience, 1-G Plate or 6-G Pipe.
Education and Experience:
- High School degree or equivalent
- Certified Welder preferred
