Perform appropriate communication with co-workers and customers
6G Welding Certification required
Operating knowledge of mechanical systems and efficient use of trade tools
Knowledge and understanding of mechanical codes.
Must provide all own hand tools.
Knowledge of mechanical trade-related tools
Promotes preventive maintenance of tools and equipment
Perform welding tasks at a level that meets job specifications.
Mark the welds made as directed by company policy.
Clean and paint all welds as required by the job specifications.
Assist Fitter as needed.
Complete and maintain a weld map if required.
Knowledge of the safe use of hazardous materials, solvents, cleaners, adhesives
Ability to perform math computations needed in the trade
Personal computer, tablet, and smartphone skills
Align, bolt, and clamp together components of fabricated metal products to secure in position
for welding
Assemble and secure pipes, tubes, fittings, and related equipment according to specifications by
welding and threading joints
Ability to read and interpret:
o Blueprints
o Detail sheets
o Sketches
o Schematics
Ability to communicate, interact, and work effectively and cooperatively with people
o Always conduct themselves in a professional manner
o Abide by Nash Plumbing and Mechanical guidelines as outlined in the Company Handbook
o Ability to promote and follow building, job site ,and department procedures and policies
o Ability to understand technical instructions
Ability to recognize the importance of safety in the workplace, follow safety rules, practice safe work habits, utilize appropriate safety equipment, and report unsafe conditions to the appropriate administrator
o Perform work within OSHA guidelines
o Utilize proper Lock-Out/Tag Out procedures
Perform other duties as assigned
