The Welder is responsible for weld prep, mig welding in the flat, horizontal and overhead as required using either flux core, metal core, or hard wire as designated and cleaning the welds after.
Duties & Responsibilities:
All duties and responsibilities are essential functions of the position. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.
Welders will perform their duties safely and efficiently
Welders will weld to AWS D1.1 and or ASME B31.3 code in the position that they have qualified for or by the direction of their supervisor
Welders will clean all welds and surrounding area to AWS D1.1 and or ASME B31.3 code.
Welders will make all base metal repairs prior to quality control (QC) inspection
Fill out job travelers, sign and date them.
May weld components in flat, vertical or overhead positions.
Knowledge of flux core, metal core, solid wire and welding with
Must know the basics to set up the machine to make a good weld.
Must know how to change out their wire and gases.
The welder will use wire brush, grinder, die grinder, scaler, scraper etc. to clean their weld in the most efficient manner based on the assembly being welded.
Must be proficient using a jib crane and / or overhead crane.
The welder must be proficient in arc gouging.
Ability and skill to operate torches, tips, hoses, welding machines.
Welders will be responsible for cleaning their work area on daily basis.
Welder will assist in all parts of fabrication and housekeeping as required.

Education and Experiences
Proven experience as a welder: 5-10 years of related experience and/or training equivalent combination of education and experience
D1 certification or related certifications preferred
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
Previous experience in heavy manufacturing
Experience reading blue prints
