Position Summary

If you know anything about the construction business, you know that getting the right products to the right site on time and safely is the benchmark of success. We are Team Convoy, we are a distributor of construction materials, we supply roofing, building envelope and below grade materials and we want folks with great people skills on our team because, in the end - people make all the difference.

We're looking for self-sufficient, motivated Welder for our Spokane location at 3919 N Sullivan Road who want to help us expand our fast-growing business.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints and drawings and take or read measurements to plan layout and procedures.
• Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements.
• Set up components for welding according to specifications (e.g., cut material with powered saws to match measurements)
• Operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded.
• Align components using calipers, rulers etc. and clamp pieces.
• Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal or overhead)
• Repair machinery and other components by welding pieces and filling gaps
• Test and inspect welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws.
• Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety.
• Make custom gate frames and gates.

Requirements

• Dedicated to safety
• Previous Galvanized and fence welding experience preferred
• Experience reading blueprints, weld symbols and dimensions
• Ability to stand for extended period of time
• Be a team player
• Pride in being on time, self-sufficient, and able to provide excellent customer service
• Bilingual in Spanish an asset
