TrinityRail Maintenance Services is searching for a 1st Shift Weld Tech in our Jonesboro, AR office! We provide a complete array of railcar maintenance services.

As a Weld Technician at Trinity, you'll communicate and coach in depth technical knowledge of the welding processes to welders of all levels. You will assist in several regulatory compliance programs to help maintain the welding management system in place. You will, at times, be required to undergo training to achieve certifications related to your job responsibilities.

What you'll do:

  • Assist in performing coaching and training of welders

  • Assist in performing advanced welder training/ qualification testing

  • Assist in OJT welder training process

  • Assist in troubleshooting welding machines and welding related equipment

  • Assist in performing/maintaining welder continuity (parameter verification program)

  • Assist in performing welding machine certification

  • Act as a subject matter expert regarding welding related area

  • Serve as a problem-solving resource and coach for welders

  • Some independent judgement and resourcefulness is required

  • May, at times, assist with 2nd shift welder training, troubleshooting, parameter verifications, or other activities as needed

  • May assist in unique special projects as assigned

  • May assist in PWHT training or troubleshooting as needed

  • Follow all safety rules and practices

  • May be involved in safety committees or initiatives

  • Perform other duties as assigned

  • Perform other duties as assigned

What you'll need:

  • Minimum of 3 years of welding/cutting experience

  • Must have knowledge of welding processes, blueprint reading, and weld symbol interpretation

  • Must be able and willing to obtain Visual Testing (VT inspection) Certification as well as all other applicable certifications such as the Weld Test Administrator certification for the testing of welds during the welder qualification/training process.

  • Must successfully complete initial screening timed written examination to be considered

  • Must be willing to obtain additional welding certifications, as needed.

  • Basic computer skills a plus (Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)

Helps to prepare the Department for procedures, performs procedure preps under the supervision of the circulating nurse, assist the Department clinical Educator with skills lab, responsible for maintaining, evaluating, and general repair of the Department equipment Must communicate effectively with nursing staff, physicians, department managers, and sales representatives. The transporter equipment tech promotes good public relations for the units, nursing division, and medical center organization.
