Weld Skilled Team Leader Primary Responsibilities

Position Information:

  • Secure pre-conditions for production

  • Daily confirmation of tools & equipment

Ensure Standardized Work

  • Observe Standardized Work to ensure compliance

  • Coach and train TM's

Maintain Production

  • Conducts standard safety, quality, productivity and cost checks

  • Communicates production issues to GL in a timely manner


  • Must be a TMMTX Weld Skilled Team Member

  • Minimum of 2 years as a TM in a line support maintenance role.

  • No Active Written Corrective Action

  • "Meets" or above on Performance Evaluation

  • Ability to work skilled rotation schedule.

  • Passed the Skilled Team Leader Assessment


  • Must be willing and capable of supporting daily overtime 100%


  • 3 years length of service as a Skilled TM

  • No corrective action in the previous 12 months

  • Current performance evaluation with a minimum of 1 exceeds

  • Current passing score of "meets" or better on TM to TL Readiness Evaluation for previous 6 month period

  • QCC Participation

(TMMTX) San Antonio, Texas Toyota Motor Manufacturing, Texas, Inc. is located in San Antonio, Texas. The plant was established in October 2003 and production started in November 2006 at the 2,000 acre site where we produce the Tundra and Tacoma pick-up trucks. We employ 3,000 salaried and hourly employees with 21 suppliers located on-site that employ an additional 3,100 employees. Our manufacturing operations include Stamping, Body Weld, Assembly, Paint and Plastics. Non-manufacturing areas include Accounting & Finance, Human Resources, Ordering & Logistics, Production Planning, Purchasing, Quality and Safety. SKILLED TEAM MEMBER Skilled Team Members repair and maintain manufacturing equipment in General Maintenance (Production) or Facilities Maintenance. Must be able to work rotating twelve hour shifts. Must be able to work weekends. Key responsibilities may include: Working in a diverse team towards a common goal Adjusting to the changing needs of a fast-paced manufacturing environment Problem solving and continuously improving safety, quality and productivity Key Responsibilities for General Maintenance (Production) We are seeking individuals with primary logic controls experience Performing preventive maintenance on electrical and mechanical equipment in accordance with standardized procedures Designing, assembling, and testing hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical equipment and systems (involves circuits, relay logic, wiring, motors, servo drives, etc.) Designing, fabricating, machining, and repairing jigs, fixtures and parts (metal, plastic, and wood) for projects, equipment repair, maintenance work orders, and machine modifications. Writing, programming, troubleshooting, modifying and/or repairing programmable logic controllers, CNC machines, robotics, and other electronic equipment Troubleshooting and repairing hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical equipment using standard and specialized hand/power tools (pipe threader, press, welder, cutting torch, machining, and diagnostic equipment). Troubleshooting, replacing and/or repairing machine components including cylinders, pumps, motors, spindles, fixtures, slides, valves, gears, switches, and bearings. Performing basic administrative skills including computer data entry and documentation of work performed by written and electronic methods Key Responsibilities for Facilities Maintenance Operating power house equipment (e.g., boilers, air compressors, chillers, electrical distribution etc.) and industrial waste treatment equipment (facilities maintenance) Prefer : Curriculum that also included PLC's, robots, 3 phase power and motor controls. OR Work Experience : Minimum of 5 years hands-on experience using Electrical Principles while installing, maintaining and/or trouble shooting equipment on a regular basis or similar military hands on experience with completed technical job training.
