The Position

Social Workers are licensed professionals who provide case management services to children, families, the elderly, and other individuals within local communities and institutions.

Incumbents perform in a trainee capacity and acquire the knowledge, skills and abilities required in this occupation. Department of Health and Human Services, Aging and Disability Services Division (ADSD) - Community Based Care in Reno, NV.

The incumbent will underfill the Social Worker 2 position and will advance to the next level in the series upon recommendation of the Appointing Authority, meeting the minimum qualifications and satisfactory performance. This position will be primarily responsible for providing case management for recipients in the Home and Community Based Waiver (HCBW) program for the Frail Elderly (FE) and Persons with Physical Disabilities (PD). This includes interviewing and assessing individuals to determine if the criteria are met for placement on the HCBW and providing case management through other Medicaid waivers, and State Funded programs such as Personal Assistance Services (PAS), Community Options Program for the Elderly (COPE) programs and Homemaker Program.

This position will complete monthly contacts with program recipients, complete required reports to appropriate agencies, complete documentation in set databases and complete community program referrals as needed. In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:

Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications) Licensure or provisional licensure as a Social Worker, Clinical Social Worker, Independent Social Worker or Associate in Social Work. Special Requirements A valid driver's license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.

A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for fingerprinting. Licensure or provisional licensure by the State of Nevada Board of Examiners for Social Workers as a Social Worker, Clinical Social Worker, Independent Social Worker, or Associate in Social Work is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of employment.

The Department of Agriculture has current vacancies for Seasonal Weights & Measures Assistants in Sparks, Nevada. These positions are anticipated for up to six months. $14.47 is the hourly wage for a grade 22, step 1 on the Employee/Employer pay scale. This is a temporary seasonal position that will assist staff with duties involving inspection and certification of small and large capacity scales and meters. The incumbent will also assist in the maintenance of weights; assist staff in performing petroleum inspections; obtain samples for laboratory analysis and test fuel dispensers; assist in performing preventive and minor maintenance of equipment; and maintain records of equipment servicing.
