We are seeking a W&I Supervisor who is highly motivated and self-driven. This individual will be responsible for identifying freight that is potentially misclassified, improperly weighed and/or sized, researching associated commodity classifications, reviewing customer pricing and then determining whether corrective actions can be taken. You will be responsible for issuing corrected billing and communicating with customers when questions may arise. The W&I Supervisor must also preform density studies, handle agent changes, prepare spreadsheets, track corrections and preform other administrative duties.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop policy for effective reinforcement of W&I activities including reweigh, inspections, and packaging for customers. Work with the dock operations team regularly and allow them to support the best W&I practices.
Determine freight to inspect based on knowledge of NMCD codes, historical trends, and highest revenue potential.
After inspecting the freight and determining re-classification, fill out the proper paperwork (including pictures) in order to submit request for billing corrections.
Investigate any objections that are filed to dispute re-classifications or reweighs that have been performed, resulting in additional charges to the customer.
Identify if the dimension device is not working correctly and coordinate repairs with operations team. Complete minor adjustments or repairs, as needed, to reduce vendor costs. Manage scale and dimensionalizer program, including maintaining calibration/service paperwork.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Understanding of LTL and TL operations
Knowledge of National Motor Freight Classifications
Ability to identify, report and execute on recurring problems
Ability to establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives without supervision
Knowledge of Excel and Word
Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
Credentials and Experience:
2+ years job related or industry work experience
High school Degree (Required)
