The Weekend Concierge is part-time working Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 4:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m.

Our Concierge is the face of our community, bringing people together and connecting people to their apartment homes. By exemplifying professionalism and superior customer service skills, the Concierge provides each person who walks into the community with a sense of Equity Residential's brand promise to Live Remarkably. The Concierge plays a vital role in helping the company establish customer loyalty, leading to resident engagement, satisfaction, and retention.

As a Concierge, you will be responsible for providing superior customer service to our residents, allowing us to deliver on our resident commitments of exceptional move-in, total satisfaction, express service, and personal attention. Each day will be unique, requiring an ability to prioritize, multitask, think creatively, take initiative, and employ a diverse set of skills. A Concierge brings positive energy to each conversation, resolves any apartment issues quickly and effectively, and makes everyone feel welcome and appreciated.

  • Deliver an exceptional experience to every person, beginning with an unmatched first impression and building rapport with teammates, visitors, and current residents.

  • Maintain and uphold a high standard for community curb appeal by conducting routine inspections of all community amenities and common areas, and working with the appropriate team members or contracted employees to ensure that all areas are maintained to Equity Residential's standards. Coordinate maintenance of office and amenity equipment including copiers, printers, resident business centers, fitness equipment, and resident lounge amenities.

  • Handle transactions like managing vendors and deliveries, accepting and logging packages, and inspecting move-ins and move-outs. You will also provide leasing assistance to property leasing staff by making initial contact with future residents, setting appointments, assisting with key pick-ups, and any other tasks related to the move-in and move-out process.

  • Act as a liaison between residents and service team members regarding both routine and emergency maintenance requests and provide assistance in the follow-up process after work is completed on routine requests. Immediately contact emergency maintenance personnel if an emergency maintenance situation develops.

  • Collaborate with talented teammates to identify and solve any apartment issues that arise.

  • Plan fun activities that help build a strong sense of belonging among residents.


  • Demonstrated proficiency in working with computers including word processing, calendar management, software/database, and social media

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, time management, and organizational skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Available to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays


  • One year customer service and/or administrative experience in a professional environment

  • College degree or coursework

  • Prior experience in front desk support (hotel concierge, office or medical receptionist, etc); experience with leasing, sales or hospitality a plus

The Concierge Services Representative is responsible for assisting clients and attendees during select conventions at the San Diego Convention Center. The Concierge Services Rep provides information specific to San Diego hospitality and tourism community and places reservations on their behalf directly to area restaurants and attractions. This individual is knowledgeable about San Diego and provides requested information including directions and assistance with mapping routes of the Gaslamp, San Diego and Southern California regions. The Concierge Services Representative actively promotes our industry partners participating in our advertising program which includes the San Diego Attendee Guide, lobby ad displays and online advertising. He or she is responsible to track this information into the CRM database system. The Concierge Services Representative works closely with other Concierge team members, the Advertising Account Executive and Director as well as support departments within the corporation. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Maintains familiarity and an up-to-date knowledge base of San Diego, its restaurants, nightlife and entertainment, attractions, shopping, golf, outdoor activities, tours, museums, current and upcoming events, and available discounts. Provides information about these activities to attendees and clients. Has the skills necessary to search the internet to best facilitate communicating this information. Places and confirms reservations at restaurants, tours, and attractions for attendees and clients and maintains a daily accounting of restaurant reservations and recommendations through the CRM data base management system. Promotes attractions & tour ticket sales and tracks activity on forms and CRM. Maintains inventory of concierge desk supplies, inventory of all menus as well as collateral & brochures. Partners and contacts restaurant when menus are outdated and/or need to be replaced. Acts as liaison with the restaurateurs, tour operators, and potential advertisers who visit the Concierge Desks as well as connects them to Director & Advertising Account Executive. Assists Director with special projects and other duties as assigned. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This job has no supervisory responsibilities. Requirements QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Ability to complete reports, business correspondence including maintaining booth statistics. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Ability to communicate professionally and courteously with clients, vendors and the general public, either verbally or in writing. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. REASONING ABILITY Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES Ability to effectively plan and schedule. Must be detail-oriented. Must have strong customer service skills and work closely with a team. Ability to communicate professionally and courteously with clients, vendors, employees and the general public. Working knowledge of computers and proficient using Word, Outlook, Excel and the Internet; and using mobile applications for tablets. Must be able to retrieve and answer email, and gather data from the internet. Other computer duties may be assigned. Must be available to work varied hours between 9:00 am and 6:00 pm, including weekends and holidays.
