Hours: 8-5pm, Mon-Fri
Responsible for the planning and design of the overall architecture and navigation of administrative, departmental and educational web sites as well as the development and programming of innovative technology-based approaches to disseminate information to members of Penn State Hershey, the public community, and research partner organizations, if applicable. Ensure the integrity of content, functionality, and accuracy of the institution web pages by designing and maintaining content, information, and digital assets.
Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience required
3 years web design and development basics experience required
Prior experience with content management systems and portal technologies required
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
Ability to balance multiple projects simultaneously
Project management skills requiring input from multiple sources and deadline management
Familarity and experience with commonly used CMS (content management systems) like Wordpress and Drupal
Strong understanding of Google Analytics and other analytics tools (Siteimprove, AdWords, Foresee, etc.)
Management of domain name registrars and associated tasks for DNS related needs
Strong awareness of mobile-first environment, including design criteria required to implement a responsive web environment in the content management systems that we employ.
Familiarity with accessibility compliance requirements for Section 508 is essential, ensuring that online publishing meets all requirements
Ability to analyze and interpret web traffic usage statistics and recommend changes based on findings.
Proficient written and oral communication skills
