Job Description:

UF Information Technology is currently seeking a Web Developer for developing websites and other digital material, including internet system architectures and web programming languages.

The incumbent should be familiar with, and effectively implement best practices in web design and coding standards

The incumbent must:

  • be able to create and execute web related projects and revise when appropriate to meet customer needs and requirements

  • communicate and enforce web and coding standards

  • implement a visually appealing web interface with a focus on the user experience

  • provide web assistance to UF Information Technology

  • support units campus wide in using HTML and CSS,

  • become familiar with the adopted web content management system

  • Strong customer services skills and self-motivation are a must.

Knowledgeable of web standards and usability guidelines. Able to ensure web presences are accessible and useable to all groups including those with disabilities.

Advertised Salary:

$51,500 commensurate with qualifications and experience. In addition, the University of Florida offers a very competitive benefits package.

Minimum Requirements:

A Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of appropriate experience, or an Associate Degree and four years years of appropriate experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

The ideal candidate would have:

  • Knowledge of:

  • HTML

  • XML

  • CSS

  • JavaScript required

This role requires web-coding skills (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, ASP.NET, PHP, Python, etc.) and content management skills (configuring and managing WordPress including theme development, etc). This position will collaborate extensively with other Business Affairs Technical Services team members and University of Florida customers. Documentation – Documents all design, development, testing and configuration details for web applications and websites. Develops and maintains user documentation and training materials. Project/Task Management - Applies basic project management concepts and established procedures for each supported customer group. Builds, monitors and adjusts project plans with assistance. Work results in milestones met on time and quality deliverables. Manages multiple tasks concurrently. Training & Technical Support - Provides training and technical assistance on content management systems and web applications for Business Affairs or campus-wide end-users. Additionally provides mobile device technical support. 8am to 5pm, Monday to Friday; may be required to work outside of this schedule to meet deadlines or other pressing needs of the programs or the institution. After-hours on-call position. Advertised Salary: Commensurate with education and experience Minimum Requirements: Associate's degree and two years of relevant experience; or a high school diploma or equivalent and four years of relevant experience.
