Administrative Office of WV Supreme Court of Appeals, Web Coordinator: The Supreme Court of Appeals of West Virginia has an immediate professional opportunity for a Web Coordinator in Charleston,West Virginia.
This position reports directly to Clerk of the Court. Under limited supervision, coordinates, organizes, edits, designs, and accumulates content for publication on the Supreme Court of Appeals internet website. Produces, maintains, and manages website, oversees and supervises all Clerk's Office content for posting to the website.
Updates and corrects content as needed. Works with other departments and agencies to provide and update the necessary links and information for public and interagency use. Work is subject to relatively close administrative review.
The Web Coordinator works closely with the Court's Lead Web Designer, the Court's Internet Committee and Public Information Officer to develop policy and address emerging issues regarding the Court's Web presence. Primary duties and responsibilities include: Collects information and updates or edits content for website posting. this includes, but is not limited to, monthly and yearly reports from various divisions within the Supreme Court, Mass Litigation orders, bar exam results and information, job announcements, and press releases when Deputy Public Information Officer is unavailable; converts to PDF format and makes handicap accessible all order lists, opinions, and Memorandum Decisions and posts to the website in accordance with the Court's timetable for release. (Recent terms of court have been averaging around 600 per term); creates the Court calendar of events, and each court docket list for the website.
Briefs for each individual case on the docket are scanned to PDF, processed and made searchable, and correctly named and identified for search engine indexing. Attention is also given to the content of the briefs to alert the Clerk of any privacy issues or content that may need redacted; researches and monitors other court divisions/departments content on the website to help keep website current; researches and revises to provide maximum accessibility to the website to persons with disabilities; Answers or redirects emails received via the website, according to policy; Transmits electronically on a weekly basis the previous week's opinions (not memo decisions) to West and Lexis; Provides help with proper document creation for the website to various members of the Court, the Clerk's Office, and the Administrative Office, on an as-needed basis. Successful candidates must submit to a criminal background check. Performs other work as required.
