This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with State Benefits.

This position qualifies for teleworking on a part-time basis as part of a State Teleworking Program. Any telework will be under the conditions of the State Teleworking Program Policy, and the employer may end any teleworking arrangement at any time at the employer's sole discretion.

The salary grade for this position is DT10. State employees are encouraged to apply for positions of interest even if the salary grade is the same as, or lower than, their current position. If selected for this position, a new salary will be recalculated taking into consideration the quantity of relevant education and experience, funding availability, and internal equity. The Web Applications Developer assists the Application Team with programming, web design, system administration, application development, tier three technical support and other related IT duties.  The selected candidate's work will be completed using C#.net, JavaScript, jQuery, HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, ReactJS and other front-end technologies in a Visual Studio environment.  All applications are housed on Microsoft SQL Server databases and Management Studio is used to administer them.

About the Administration Section:

The primary mission of the Administration Section is to provide effective and efficient support functions for the Division. These functions include Accounts Payable, Budget, Human Resources, Grants Management, Information Technology, Application Development, Geographic Information Systems, and Emergency Management Assistance Compact Support.

The Knowledge, Skills and Abilities listed below, along with the Minimum Education and Experience requirements, are REQUIRED to qualify for this position. We will not review resumes in lieu of Experience and Education listed on the application.

To qualify for this position, applicants must document on the application that they possess ALL of the following:

  • Experience creating web-based applications using C#.net

  • Experience using JavaScript

  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server and/or other enterprise relational databases

  • Experience with CSS, HTML and bootstrap

  • Experience making web-based applications mobile friendly with a responsive design

Management Preferences:

  • Familiarity with Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud based infrastructure is a plus

  • Experience using ReactJS

  • Any experience with AWS serverless technologies or PostgreSQL in AWS

  • Experience with Entity Framework and writing complex SQL Queries

  • Experience with database design and maintenance

  • Experience in creating and consuming data from Application Program Interfaces (API)

  • Experience reviewing security Penetration (Pen) test results and researching potential solutions

  • Familiarity with Open Web Application Security Project (OWASP) best practices

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to work with non-technical clients

Bachelor's degree in computer science or an IT related field or related technical degree from an appropriately accredited institution and four years of progressive experience in business application consulting or development; or

Associate degree in computer science or an IT related field or related technical degree from an appropriately accredited institution and five years of progressive experience in business application consulting or development; or

High School or General Education Development (GED) diploma and eight years of experience in business application consulting or development; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
